Colts signed S Bob Sanders to a five-year, $37.5 million extension through 2012. The deal includes $20 million in guarantees.

The deal makes him the NFL's highest paid safety. Sanders, a two-time Pro Bowler who entered the league as only a second-round pick in 2004 due to concerns over his height (5'8), is the leading candidate for Defensive Player of the Year. He has 90 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two interceptions, and six breakups as the starting strong safety in the NFL's top secondary this year. Dec. 28 - 3:49 pm et

If he wins the DPOY award, then we know it is rigged, because Champ had much better stats last year than that.

There's a shocker...

I'm a fan of Sanders. He's a blast to watch play the game. :salute:

I hope we find someone like him to replace Lynch. :defense:

Mideau Williams and Erik Coleman are both very under-rated safties.

I think Bob Sanders is an excellent safety, I think he deserves the fat pay check.

Smart move by the Colts. His presence and play alone turned the Colts D around last year when he came back for the playoffs. Tough dude and a good football player. Fun to watch.

he's one of the top players on my FA wish list. . . .

as for sanders. . . as far as i' concerned, the colts are more than welcome to pay him out the ass to only play half of their games-- great player but he is hurt way too often, and most likely doesn't have a long career ahead of him the way he throws his puny body around. . . polamalu is going to be another risky signing, with his history of concussions. . .

I resigned him in Madden as well for the Broncos.

Good move by the Colts though.

Smart move by the Colts.

Now Indy can franchise Dallas Clark if they have to.
