Broncos signed P Sam Paulescu.

The Oregon State alum may have a shot at being Denver's long-term punter. He'll start in Week 17 and likely stay with the team in the offseason.

WTF is a 'Sam Paulescu?'

Damn. I was hoping to see Elam pull his groin.

P.S. I like being able to say (type) Damn.

I'm still confused as to why we can't type (say) **** though... **** is short for Richard.

Hopefully he can kick the ball more than 10' off the ground.

2005: Sam is one of the top punters in the Pac-10 on the West Coast as a senior...his value doesn’t always appear on the stat sheet as he is excellent at directional punting...a legitimate postseason honors candidate...one of the best punters in OSU history.

2004: Sam was sixth in the Pac-10 for punt average at 42.5, but he was just 1.3 yards from leading the conference...his 42.5 average was the sixth-highest in OSU history...24 of his punts were downed inside the 20-yard line, the second-highest figure in the conference...booted a 69-yard punt against Washington State, the fourth-longest in OSU history...also had a 62-yard strike against Boise State and finished the year with a total of 11 of 50-plus yards...honorable mention All-Pac-10 Conference...co-special teams teams MVP (Chaz Scott).

FULLERTON: Sam earned first-team All-American honors as a punter and place-kicker at Fullerton College under head coach Gene Murphy in 2003...selected first team All-American by J.C. Grid-Wire and by J.C. Athletic Bureau...earned first team All-Mission Conference; first team all-California J.C. Region IV, and first team All-California as selected by the California Community College Football Coaches Association...as a place-kicker, he was the fifth-leading scorer among California Junior College players -- scored 73 points in 10 games (37-37 PAT, 12-17 FGs)...booted a 57-yard field goal against Santa Monica, and was perfect on all three attempts over 41 yards...made a 25-yarder in overtime to give Fullerton a 24-21 win over Riverside on Nov. 15...as a punter, he averaged 45.6 yards on 46 attempts during the regular season, with a long of 84 yards...his average rose to 46.5 yards after three playoff games...also bettered his all-time long punt with an 86-yarder against Santa Monica in the Nov. 22 U.S. Bank Beach Bowl...as a freshman in 2002, he averaged 36.7 yards on 53 punts...received a two-star rating by Rivals.com...Sam’s special teams coach at Fullerton was Jim Wren, who was USC’s punter in 1996 when Mike Riley was the offensive coordinator.

WHITTIER CHRISTIAN: Sam played soccer, track and football at Whittier Christian High School in La Habra, Calif...earned four letters in football and soccer, and two in track and field...he kicked a prep career-best 43-yard field goal as a junior...scored 17 goals in soccer as a junior...in addition to kicking, Sam also played wide receiver, running back and defensive back...team defensive MVP as a senior and a first-team All-Olympic League in 2001 as a kicker...played in the 605 All-Star game in the summer of 2002...as a junior, he scored three touchdowns, intercepted two passes and kicked a 43-yard field goal in one game.

What do all you guys who follow the college players to death think?

...this guy's going to be the answer we've been looking for so long?

Sounds like a keeper. We need a kicker that knows how to punt AWAY from certain people named Devin Hester.

I was hoping Elam would punt so well that they'd resign him as a punter and sign Josh Brown to kick, so Denver could at least attempt 50+ yard FG's again.

It SOOO totally worked on my Madden Franchise Mode......

I was hoping Denver would be interested in a Punter in the draft... I really, really like Mike Dragosavich (as a punter for all you sicko freak.com guys) He will be a good one.

First of all I have never heard of this guy.

Second of all, I hope he lasts longer than the Vikings game. Hopefully he will since that is the last game.

He is a real estate agent. His friend David works at Subway. We really don't like David that much. He has a temper.

I just hope he isn't a mean drunk like Sourbum and will not get butterflies and shank every punt like Beef's son Ernster.

That is a long story and I wouldn't be the right one to tell it.

But your right we shouldn't be shutting down bronco forums. It was a pretty fitting ending for that forum for the year our broncos have had though.

I only got to see one punt, but it was the first time I recall one like that actually happening. Haven't seen a directional punt like that in awhile (Sauerbrun was a fan of, "Hope it lands at the one and then bounce back" strategy, which unless you're Shane Lechler you shouldn't be doing).

Kick offs were done by a different kicker. It was Prader the guy we picked up off Miami's practice squad.

He had five punts averaging 40+ yards per punt. We saw a lot worse last week.
