Well, basically, there was this little dot, right? And the dot went bang and the bang expanded. Energy formed into matter, matter cooled, matter lived, the amoeba to fish, to fish to fowl, to fowl to frog, to frog to mammal, the mammal to monkey, to monkey to man, amo amas amat, quid pro quo, memento mori, ad infinitum, sprinkle on a little bit of grated cheese and leave under the grill till Doomsday.

As I said, I was there in '80-82. No mall down the road. We had the Winn Dixie, a small wal-mart, pizza inn, and a handful of other small stores. BAck then, they were claiming 10,000 families in this wonderful fox and jacobs community, or something like that. I moved away right after Griffiths middle school (I think that's what it was called) opened. I went to that new school for 8 weeks. Prior to that, we used to get bussed to Lewisville, which took over 45 minutes with the traffic.
I lived over on Avery place. (or maybe Avery court).

It's Griffin Middle School...my son goes there. There is a Big Lots where the old Wal-Mart use to be and a Super Wal-Mart on 121. The Winn-Dixie is now a Kroger. I know where Avery Court is. When TC was originally started, it was basically a sub division. We're now at about 35000 in population, but we're getting choked out by the population boom in Little Elm and Frisco. Makes travelling in TC a nightmare

When I was there, I was young, too young to drive, and there just wasn't much to do. A few of us had three wheelers (ATV's) and used to ride down the alleys and then across 423 (I think that's right, the road that used to border the Colony on the Lewisville (west, maybe) side. Back then, there were no houses on that side of 423, just places where they had done dirt work to start building, we used to have a field day riding all over that dirt work and then out towards the lake. Other than that, there wasn't much for kids to do. Their used to be an arcade near a pizza placed called Pat's pizza, which was next to a bar, in the 'dry' county.

That would be good. Other than the video arcade (which was pretty popular in those days), there was really nothing for kids to do.
I was down in Dallas right after Christmas last year, but while I made it out to the Frisco mall, I didn't even go through the Colony to check it out. Didn't get the chance.
