(AP file photo)The Broncos' jumping to a 5-0 record this season surprised most NFL fans. But none more than Las Vegas.
Denver is one of five teams undefeated through five games, along with Indianapolis, Minnesota, New Orleans and the N.Y. Giants.
But against the point spread, the Broncos are the only team in the NFL at 5-0. New Orleans is also undefeated against the spread, at 4-0.
The Broncos have only twice been favored to win this season, against Cleveland in Denver (-3 points) and at Oakland (-2.5). Generally in the odds, an NFL team is spotted three points for playing at home.
And for the Broncos next game, Monday night at San Diego? The Chargers are favored by 4.
The NFL's best against the spread this season:
Denver ... 5-0
New Orleans ... 4-0
Indianapolis ... 4-1
Minnesota ... 4-1
N.Y. Giants ... 4-1
San Francisco ... 4-1
The worst:
Carolina ... 0-4
San Diego ... 1-3
Kansas City ... 1-4
Pittsburgh ... 1-4
St. Louis ... 1-4
Tampa Bay ... 1-4
Tennessee ... 1-4
