Anyone else not feeling the Xmas spirit?
What with crap weather, work and idiot customers, and a heavy dose of homesickness, I'm just not in the Xmas spirit.
Where do customers get off throwing hissy fits at Customer Service people on Christmas Eve? Do they really think we WANT to be sitting at work listening to morons moan about everything under the sun?
Seriously, while you sit at home prepping your food for tomorrow, don't whine to those people who are slogging their guts out, and looking down the barrel of working Christmas Day too.
You want a little less Bah Humbugging? Show some respect towards those who will be working over Christmas.
Oh yeah, and the supermarket will only be closed for one day. It's not the end of the world. No need to run folks down with your fully laden trolley!

Sorry to hear you aren't in the Christmas spirit. You need to go out and look at it through the eyes of a child!! That will get you there fast. Home sickness is another thing.... maybe a phone call to those that can lift your spirits? I too am away from "home" this Christmas and my son but we have spent a lot of time laughing and talking on the phone!! It helps!
Customers on the other hand.. I definately feel for anyone that has to work at this time of year in customer service!! I applaud you for your job because I feel I would probably be in jail. The patience you must have, the smiles you must paste to your face, I applaud you!! You do a job I could NEVER do but one that is so important, especially this time of year!!
Hang in there!! Smile and remember... it is almost over!!
I love your word for shopping cart! When we moved to the south I had to get used to asking for the shopping buggy. I like trolley much more! Maybe I will really confuse people and start using that one!!
Merry Christmas to you....................... :santaclaus:
I'm definitely not feeling the Christmas spirit. Usually I don't get too in to it because my family spells chaos when the holidays roll around, but being over here takes away from the whole rest of Christmas.

Customers forget that we know where they live! Seriously, we can turn up on their doorstep with a big arse knife!

I know.... and I have seen those kind of customers in front of me and I tell the employee... "how do you do it??? I would bring a loaded gun to work with me.."
I work with toddlers... and always will. I can't work where I deal with adults acting like toddlers. At least toddlers throwing fits is AGE APPROPRIATE!!!!
Hope all gets better for you!!!! Merry Christmas from the Gulf Coast!!!!

Oh yeah, and as for trolleys, in NZ we say someone is trolleyed (as in so drunk you have to get them home in a shopping trolley).
Ah drunken student escapades!
Oh Kap....
I've paid my dues through holidays for many years working them, in retail, and it's 'ugly'. I can only advise this....
GET THE HELL OUT OF RETAIL AS FAST AS YOU CAN!
:D

Oh I got out of retail, this is online gaming (internet poker/casino/sportsbetting). Buggers are damned ungrateful!

This is the first Christmas where I've felt a little distant from the holiday. I wouldn't call it "Bah Humbug" at all...just a little weird. I just don't think it will be the best Christmas ever.
Kap...I understand what you mean.Altho I don't work today or
tomorrow...I feel a little down right now in my personal life.It will
be a good day tomorrow though.I will make sure it is for my family.
I hope work is the only thing that has you down and not nothing
more than that.
Merry Christmas to You!
