I just wanted to give some love to Jabar Gaffney. With all the (well deserved) praise that Bucky and our defensive FA pickups have gotten (Dawkins, Goodman, Hill, Davis, Fields, etc.) I think that the Gaffney signing has flown under the radar.
He has arguably been our most consistent WR this year and he fills his role perfectly. He's not as physically gifted as Marshall or Royal, but he is a lot like Stokely in that he knows how to get open, runs good routes, and I can't recall him dropping a pass so far. He hasn't been spectacular, but he has been solid all season and seems to be the perfect complimentary weapon to Mashall, Royal, Scheff, and the rest of them.
Also, you think NE isn't missing him? McD had worked with Gaffney for the past several years and knew exactly what he was getting when we signed him. Gaffney always seemed to make a couple grabs a game for the Pats and now they are having to make do with an ancient Joey Galloway, some rookie that played QB in college, and some guy I have never heard of. I'd guess that Brady and company are missing him a bit.
Anyway, here are his stats for the season:
