What are y'all gonna get me?

This birthday is kind of meaningful to me. Granted, I'm turning 23 and that doesn't mean anything, but for me it will be the first time since 2002 that I'll spend my birthday at home.

2003 I turned 19 in basic training
2004 I turned 20 in Afghanistan
2005 I turned 21 in Qatar
2006 I turned 22 in Kuwait

Too bad we can't have a real party online for your birthday before you head out overseas again in October. :tsk:

:D I was deployed to Qatar and on an MRT (Maintenance Recovery Team) in Mosul. That was a great day.

So the ball was dropped today. On my birthday I'll be stuck in ECST training...don't know what the acronym stands for but in a nutshell its "Army Convoy Support Training". It works out well because a) I'm in the Army and b) I plan on going on a convoy.:tsk:

Common soldier tasks for skill levels one (1) through four (4) and Battle Staff, First Sergeant, Master Sergeant Staff and Sergeant Major positions.

Dammit to hell. From what I read, this training involves a lot of tactical stuff, low-crawls (which I'm exempt from because of my knees), shooting the M-16 and M-9 (for those qualified previously), and a bunch of stuff I'll probably never use. Wonderful!

You bet your bottom dollar that after I come home, take a nap, and shower I'm going to the bar. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
