ok, so i got home from work at about 5:30, played with the baby, and put him to sleep at 7:30.
Then my stomach started hurting, but not like on the inside like a normal stomach ache, but like a pulling or something. So i look at it and it was bloated. I had/have like a 3-4 inch bloat. No i am not a girl, if thats what you are thinking. And it was my stomach stretching that was hurting. Now its really upset and is killing me. I also feel like i am going to throw up.
I decided to just relax and deal with it, but now for like the last 30 minutes i have been burping non stop! Loud, smelly burps. NOrmally you would think the gas would come out the other end but its not. And my burps smell like rotten eggs. I think i remember hearing somewhere that that was a sign of SALMONELLA?.
Does anyone know if thats the case, or how to treat it on your own. I dont have any insurance, so i cant go to the doctor or ask them anything. I know i am just going to have to ride it out, but if anyone knows of any regular things i could do/take to maybe ease myself through this would be grateful.
*oh god stomach is bublin like a witches kettle now. And i have thrown up twice.
Sorry your feeling ill. That is a shame.
Ya might try googling it.
You may be getting a touch of the flu also.

Probably a gas bubble, you can get huge ones if you eat really fast.

careful with that, man!
that ish is dangerous-- it can be fatal!! you really need to see a doctor, insurance or no. . .
edit: if anything, freakin' KFnastyC should be payin' your doctor bill-- sounds like they're the ones that poisoned you!
Dude if you had Salmonella you'd be on the toilet with liquid poop and throwing up at the same time.
I got that nastiness from Chicken Cordon Blue from Costco in about 1995. I was about 10 years old. Every time I'd go poop I'd bring a hurl bucket with me and it got used. I was that way for about a week and lost about 15 pounds.
I know, TMI, but Salmonella is some nasty crap.
No but I stayed at an Holiday Inn Express last night :D
I know this is gross and all but when was your last BM? My dad went like 8 days w/o one and his stomach was HUGE - we finally had to literally drag him to the ER where lets just say it was enema city
EColi - or salmonella causes diarrhea AND throwing up on usually a 1/2 hour basis (for about 24 hours) - I had it the Thanksgiving I was supposed to go to the DB v Cowboys game :( when we won in ot on a FG but I digress
Those illnesses will make you feel like you wish you were dead and it lasts at least 48-72 (min) hours then you are physically wiped for another day or two
Also, have you taken any new medication - it could be an allergic reaction
Or you just have really bad gas :D
PS - WebMD is a great site for things like this but I have had a few occasions where i couldnt find info on symptoms i was looking for

you are all right.
sr- i have my own two trashcans that i rotate in with me.
ob- i go normally. yesterday and today is to much normally. way to much.
But for me its 52 min exactly, unless i try to drink something then i hurl it up immediately. I am so tired from being up all night and day, but i cant sleep cuz i hurt all over. But i try to keep my spirits up, i watched americas funniest videos. It was dumb.
you are probably right dogfish, but i dont think i could prove it was kfc can i? If this last again tongiht and tomorrow i might consider going in, but a last year or something maybe it was longer ago. I had to go in because i had strep, and (no insurance) so i let it go, but things got real bad. Anyway, i had to go in then and that was like almost 6k in bills.
I cant do that to the fam. People in the old days had this im sure, and they survived ( i hope). I should be fine. i still feel like death tho..eegghh.

you have to find a way to get some fluids into you, or you are going to have bigger problems than vomiting etc.
Try sucking on icecubes.

Hi mate.
I've been going through exactly the same thing as you the past two days. It's only now starting to ease up. Hope you feel better soon.

One of the few things I can keep down when I am ill is mashed potatoes.
The starch helps to calm your stomach
But seriously, get those fluids, or you'll end up in hospital with a drip in your arm!

the little ice bits is working. thanks. But i still cant eat to many at once or it comes right back up. I am hungry but i am not. I tried to make a soup, but didnt have enough energy to stand up long enough to make it.
this is hell, y2c im sorry you got the same thing. But you are right, i am starting to extend my minutes from 52 to about 1 hour and 20 min. I think i have made it over the hump.
When the wife gets home, i will ask her if she can make me some mashed potatoes. Do they really work. I should probably make sure they are plain right? My wife likes to add lots of butter and salt and pepper and stuf. that just doesnt sound good at all.

im not a fan of them anyways. Even when i had insurance. I got my nose gashed open in hockey once, but i didnt go to the doctor until 3 days later because it didnt heal. SO they gave me 4 stitches in the bridge of my nose, and as i was leaving they started falling out. The doctors said they thought htat might happen, because i waited so long that all the tissue had died.
I asked if it would be ok and they said just dont let it get infected. Ok, fine, but if you didntthink they would stay in, and i would be fine without them, why didnt you just ask me instead of making me get a shot to the nose and then lay there while you try to so it back together, and now lay there while you take them back out.
thats when i realized that i dont need them unless i am dying because my body will fix itself........i hope..

How are doing today UR? They are so right about staying hydrated, you have to do that. If you are not feeling better please go to a doctor, your family needs you around. Also if you are feeling better and can't eat food try a little plain white rice. That helps me when nothing else will stay down.

Great to hear you are feeling somewhat better. Gatorade is good - as far as food - what about toast or soda crackers?

mmm. thats a good idea, like some saltines. Yeah, those sound pretty good, and i hope they are light enough to keep down. Thanks. I will try that.
* they are a little hard to eat as my mouth is already dry, but a few small nibbles and a small sip of water is working out pretty well.
I have to say, even though i havent eaten in like a day and half i am very hungry but still at the same time i am not.

Gatorade is very good. It will help replenish the electrolytes your body has lost.
My staple diet after puking for days
Chicken noodle soup
Saltines
Ginger ale - A MUST - ginger has a calmin effect on your stomach although they say you should drink it flat and warms cuz of the bubbles - but yuck!!!! I always have it cold, fresh and lots of ice
Ice Chips
Grape Popsicles
Also, Pedialite - sp? - has popsicles and they have all the stuff u need after being sick
Best thing is you lose at least 5-10 pounds - oh wait u are not a girl so it doesnt matter
Its the only silver lining to that cloud ;)

Peppermint tea is also very good for settling the stomach.

One thing that I use when I have any kind of gastrointestinal distress are enteric-coated peppermint pills. You can buy them at any health food store. I use Enzymatic Therapy brand-they're excellent. They have to be enteric-coated so that they dissolve in your intestines rather than your stomach. I hope that this helps and that you're feeling better.

that just sounds disgusting- you crazy aussies and your tea.j/k.
Ok ob i will see about some ginger ale, i dont think i have any, even though i have pretty much stopped throwing up, my stomach is still not a happy camper.
If only there were a sickness where you you could gain 10-15lbs in a day or two. I am trying to put on, not take off. I dont have a scale, but i dont see how theres any way possible that i havent lost atleast 5 lbs. I usually eat a lot.

Actually it's a morrocan thing. I found it really helped me when I was having stomach problems last week.

I think Green Tea is good for the stomach, not sure though.
Best thing when your stomach is bad is dry things, like toast, arrowroot biscuits. Potato's are also good.
Also Gastronol tablets are good, they are completely natural and have no side effect what so ever.
What I recommend is taking Acidophilus (once you get better), it comes in different forms (powder, liquid) and it doesn't taste funny. It is very good for your whole body but especially the stomach.
I don't really suffer with stomach problems (I had glandularfever for nearly 2 years so if I ever get ill, it's ALWAYS my throat), but I hope you get better!
