So you can't be happy about YOUR QB and his rating, but would rather see him do worse then Jay and Tom?

Kyle has things to work on...................and so does the rest of the team.

But just like being 4-0, you have to like where things are at right now. We want him to play better........but we as a team have gotten the job done and thats the main thing.

One thing for sure though, we're going to need him to play well this week if we have a chance to win.

My thought is..........Belichick is going to be bringing the heat in abundance come sunday.

We in turn, need to run the ball very well. We run the ball.......we win.

Just my opium though.............:coffee:

i see the seacawks, gb and the squeelers being tougher than browns, cincy, and the kitchen raiders.

we really didn't beat cincy that was nothing but pure luck

we missed 2 easy field goals that would have put the game away earlier....so no it was a combination of bad look and good luck.

At this rate, its really no different than how we've played thus far. Play good defense, force some turnovers, and dont turnover the ball ourselves.

Oh, and have our receivers catch passes. Something the Ravens receivers somehow lacked last week. lol

I don't think many will disagree with you on that one. But Orton is a smarter QB than Trent IMO.It was just a sarcasm in fact... I do believe too that Orton is a better QB than Dilfer and he will benefit from being tutored by "Mack Daniels" :D

I was just a bit fed up hearing how bad Kyle sucks... I know he is no Jay Cutler or anything close but I think he is not as bad as many people think he is...
He seems to be a good leader, have a great team spirit and he is tough (playing with his finger like that he not so easy).
I think he can suit very well McD's system. He still has to improve and learn things but he seems to be smart enough.
Will he be a HOF? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
But he can certainly be a decent QB for a SB ring (after all, Dilfer had one too  )

So I tried to be a bit funny in my previous answer :D

And after all, Kyle is the best at :
- Throwing the deflected pass
- Throwing through the hands of the defenders...
Can Cutler, Brady or Manning do that????

And last, I prefer a "game manager" QB and a winning team (thanks to the D or "luck" but who cares again?) than a "great" QB and a losing team (because of the D but who cares finally?). :D

Go Broncos :defense:

His rating is only due to luck, the luck of not having an interception yet...if all the balls he has thrown that should have been picked were, he would be in the basement of the rankings - that is why it is highly overrated, Elway, Manning, Kelly, Brees, Rivers, Farve, Bradshaw, Aikman and several of the other top quarterbacks had or have had influx on their quarterback rankings throughout their careers; I would take anyone of them over Orton...period. It is deceptive and means diddly-**** in the end.

Orton's gotten lucky, but so does every QB. A four-game stretch is a pretty darn good statistical sample. Will he regress back toward the mean as the season progresses? History would show that to be likely, but he has played pretty well for what he's been asked to do. Give credit where credit is due.

4-0 is what counts and the QB helps us get there and his QB rating is what it is.

10-06-2009, 01:50 PM
I bet every QB has had a defender miss a ball that should have been picked...they play defense for a reason! Seriously though, he has gotten fortunate on a couple, but anyone who goes 4 games without an INT is doing something right. Orton is doing what he is asked and winning games for us. He has made plays when we needed them. Marshall beasted it up on the TD, but I think the play before that was when Orton allowed himself to get nailed by Ratliff (and he saw it coming) so that he could drop a dime to Eddie for a 1st down. And then Orton made the right read and delivered the ball to our best playmaker and let The Beast do what he does. He also led a nice drive the drive before that allowed us to tie the game.

Nay Layne, I do not jest... I am dead serious, because luck runs out, talent and ability is a far more a greater asset then 'dumb luck'. Hell, even winning is deceptive, because it masks short comings in the eyes of the fans and analysts alike. Orton has been his typical self, he rides the coat-tails of a good defense to victory and again counts on luck to be successful!

Want me to give credit to where it is due? Cincinnati should be 4-0, Denver's offense is overrated, the defense is better then I thought it was, McDaniels is a better head coach then I thought he was but a far worse offensive coordinator then I had believed, Orton is being overrated by the blind faithful, and if not for Stokely and Marshall we would be 2-2...period, bottom line and the end. And there, now I have given credit to where it is due!

I'm not sold on Orton yet. He needs to step it up a notch. He hasn't played well in the first half. As long as the D keeps it close in the first half we're good. I am afraid if we get to far down there is no way Orton can do it. I hope he proves me wrong. I am not saying Orton is a bust or anything like that just that he hasn't shown me he has what it takes yet.

But why should it be some sort of surprise that Brady's numbers would be off given that he's been working his way back from knee surgery? If the O.P. had been just about Cutler, it would have made sense for me, given the circumstances. The Brady part just doesn't.
