View Full Version : Get on record! Will the Broncos be 4-0 this time next week?

After 3 games, are we the real deal or will Romo and the Cowboys expose us as a bunch of pretenders?

Me? I think we will handle the Cowboys quite capably. 24-10 Broncos!

27-17 Denver wins!

I see a win here myself. The media overhypes the Cowboys every year and they are never all that good. Romo doesn't scare me at all and Barber being banged up will help as well. Dallas having a short week to prepare and having to go to Denver will also help us. I am fully expecting a win.

Yes, and I expect 3 picks out of Romo.

If it were in Dallas I'd go with Dallas but I think Romo will play a pretty poor game in Denver.

My heart says yes, my head isn't sure.

The Cowboys had 4 turnovers against the Giants number 2 defense (behind the number 1 Broncos defense) and they still put up 30+ points.

As good as our defense looks, I don't know if we (or anyone) can shut the Cowboys offense down. So, if that's true and the Cowboys don't shut themselves down, the question is can we hang with them scoring wise? I don't know.

What I hope happens is that we can have long, time consuming drives ending in seven points, and our defense can shut down their offense and get a few turnovers.

The Giants ran and passed over and through the Cowbelles.

I dont see it being much difference this week.

The starting three on their defensive line have a staggering total of 9 tackles through three games.

2 at LDE, 2 at RDE, and 5 at NT.

Spears, Ohlshanksky and Ratliff are not a threatening bunch.

Ratliff is light in the butt.

Im lookin for a mauling of that Dline.

The Bucs were crushing them in the run game up until the time they abandoned the run when they fell behind.

I believe we have a better run game than the Buccaneers.

Just me though.:coffee:

Offensively, they have the biggest oline in the league.

But they arent that mobile.

Our Dline and linebackers will have their work cut out for them, but I believe we can win this game.

We need to cap off drives with TDs though..........not FGs.

We won't be considered a legitimate contender until we beat a great team so we HAVE to win this game... as long as our D shows up like they have the last 3 games, I think we can go 4-0...

The CowTurds are getting handled by a sad Panthers team as I type this...and that's in the Jones 'Mahal! The Carolina sad Defense is still mauling Romo!
We win! 5 sacks and 3 picks and 2 FF.
27-6

And yes more touchdowns! PRater should not be far and away our leading scorer at this point in the season!

Yep, they aren't looking impressive. I told my Cowboy buddies at work today, that I hope they struggle, but win, so we wouldn't be facing them after they lost two games, and we also wouldn't be facing them after the confidence of a blowout win.

On a personal note, if they score 29 or fewer points (win or lose), I win the tiebreaker in my office pool and win the pool this week.

The Denver Broncos are going to kick the shit out of Dallas.

In the NFL it all happens in cycles. They're due to be knocked down a little bit, and Denver is long overdue.

This team can be for real. I don't think it's all smoke and mirrors.

Their running game looks to be at least average: Jones is a speedster. If Barber is not playing, the chances for a Broncos' win improve. Bronco's Oline handled them last year pretty well in preseaon, but that is not a great prediction variable. Nonetheless the Denver Oline is superb. Need to find Ware, because I don't think they will match him with Clady too much. Romo is a runner, but he can be rattled......

Denver's O needs to be a bit more cagey and add a couple of wrinkles. I actually think their Ss will fall for the long ball look (Royal) and underneath passes will succeed. And the misdirection tosses should work well. Also, I wonder of Hillis can throw the ball? That play would be so wide open, IMO. End arounds might be somewhat successful.....

Overall, I look for a competitive game. But I hope the Broncos flat out nail them.....

Denver is not Carolina right now, who are shadows of their 2008 selves. It's ironic actually, two teams in opposite directions from a year ago.

I have a bet going with one of my coworkers, who is a die hard Cowboys fan. If the Cowboys win, then I will have to wear a Tony Romo jersey the following Friday at work (casual Friday at the office). If the Broncos win, I will make him wear my T.D. Broncos jersey.

I am prepping the number 30 jersey as we speak...

This is going to be the 1st preseason pick of mine that I'll be wrong about. Before the season started, I picked us sweeping Oakland, KC and Ohio. I then said that we would lose the rest. Now, I say we win this game and at least 1 of the next 2.

In all fairness, although I definately share you enthusiasm, Dallas's running game has been unreal the last few games. They are averaging over 8 yards a carry. That's pretty freaking amazing, but that comes to an end this weekend.

Once the glove comes off and the neckbeard grows in a little thicker, this offense will be unstoppable. Mile High Magic.

As long as we get pressure on Romo it's definately a Win! Romo doesn't seem to play well under adversity.

I say McD opens the offense up a little bit more this week and the Broncos come out with another win. And maybe....just maybe some of the sports shows will talk about the Broncos a little bit instead of blowing right past them each week in their discussions of the games.

CoachChaz
09-29-2009, 07:12 AM
Yeah, but Romo plays much better moving around. Nevertheless...he's still WAY overrated. Lock up Witten and control the running game and force Romo to beat you. That's the best resipe for success.

...and keep Dawkins in his face. I think Dawk has caused more Romo turnovers than any other team in the NFL.

Elevation inc
09-29-2009, 07:18 AM
well i think we will dominate them extensively actually, i belive royal will have a breakout game, watching tape of the last few games, brandon was shown no respect by the defense at all they left him single covered, while doubling royal. this will start to change as brandon is starting to find form again. and royal should find himself open again.

last year cutler had the arm and at time poor decision making to force balls to both royal and marshall while double covered. kyle just doesnt have that ability, so while we wont see royal and marshall catch balls in double coverage, we will see far less turnovers and killed momentum....this will hurt the stats of both players, but we will be a bit more efficient i believe.

as moreno and bucky start to roll teams will begin trying to stack the box, in which we will start seeing far more quick outs and stuff of that nature, as well as deeper plays opening up, this offense plan is starting to take shape, and the bottom line is its hard to tell what we will do from week to week. for any clue find the weakness of the opposing team and thats probally what we will try and exploit.

dallas weakness is outside runs, and underneath throws...i would imagine we will see another heavy dose of what we did to oakland, and if we can make our first drive long and do what we did in oakland i have a feeling we can frustrate dallas all day again on both sides. and end up with a blowout for us

on offense dallas strength is in the run game, but barber is doubtful, and jones is banged up, im worried about tashard chocie as i feel he is there best all round complete back, and im still pissed shanny didnt draft him and settled for ryan torain.....but our run defense stepped up against oakland so i think we will be up to task again.....

my biggest scare in this game is jason witten and our underneath coverage, i hope we conitnue to pressure as well as we have and i hope nolan has some blitz packages ready, becasue rommo isnt good under pressure, if we hassle him enough we should slow down there offense quite a bit, however our ILB and OLB are a bit shaky in underneath coverage so witten could have a big day.....and that worries me but i have faith

overall though i expect us to make a statement at home. this is a physical team that improves each week, and this defense is for real. i am actually quite confident and have been even before the season started we would beat dallas, i see no reason we cant be 4-0....

Denver 27-10:salute:

whats funny to me is in 2005 we had plummer managing games efficently and smartly, a good OL, a killer run game, a middle pack defense and a tough schedule with doubters everywhere...can we have a repeat of that 2005 season??? lol

It would seem that way. Although I think Cincy wasn't and still hasn't been given the props they deserve. Granted we won on a heads up play by Stokes, but we were in that game the whole way.

If we stay true to form so far, Denver will be 4-0!

Yeah. I showed this poll to Kyle Orton. He saw that you and the others who voted against him and he just stood up silently. He slowly turned his back to me and I said, "Kyle... are you ok?"

He stood there silently for a second, until finally he said, "No, Kyle Orton is not ok." (He likes to talk about himself in 3rd person).

Then he slowly turned back towards me and slowly brought up his right hand in front of his face. He pulled on his glove slowly, and after it slipped on he clenched his fist. I went to speak again, but before I could his eyes lit up bright red and he let out a horrible yell. He grew a neckbeard instantly right before my eyes as he began tearing apart the room.

After 3 terrifying hours of this, he finally calmed down. His eyes returned to normal, and his neckbeard retreated leaving only a porn star mustache. He collapsed to one knee and looked up at me.

"I forgive them for doubting... this time" he said as he looked up and THROUGH me. "But if it happens again, I will devour their souls and stain my teeth with their blood".

That was the last time I saw Kyle Orton before the game. Just a warning to you guys. You better take my polls more seriously.
