If it wasn't for Braylon Edwards bailing him out on that pass there would have been no TD.

ok man, we get the point, you don't like anderson..yes he sometimes stares down receivers etc, but he is the only that is proven to actually win games for us. You actually think we would be 7-5 with charlie frye lol?

This is about the browns game vs the jets. DAm jets driving, hopefully we can keep them to no points here.

Does the Jets vs Browns involve Derek Anderson?

Then I am in the right thread.

Also, Charlie Frye is gone. So, there is no way to bench Anderson in favor of "Frye".

26 passing TD's for Derek so far, hopefully he can go into the 30's by seasons end.

Jamal Lewis needs 79 rushing yards to crack the 1k mark despite being injured early in the season, we need to resign him this offseason.

I'm really impressed with the Browns this year. They're making a name for themselves and have a damn good football team. Derek Anderson is the most impressive this year IMO, alongside Braylon Edwards who is a ridiculous manbeast.

Don't forget Joe Thomas and their offensive line; Anderson is the least sacked QB in the league. Easier to make throws when you have good protection.

Great win and amazing play by Anderson. I'm about ready to put him in the same breath as Manning and Brady. After watching him against the Jets I'm finally sold. 26 Tds for him and he wasn't even the starter in week 1. I cant wait to watch the Browns trade him and he will be an MVP and lead his next team to multiple superbowls.

I know which jersey will be the next one I buy.
Congrats to Derek Anderson and the Cleveland Browns on a great win. :)

Speaking of "leading" the NFL.

Derek Anderson is in the top 10 of most interceptions thrown this season.

So far he has 14 and the league leader has 17.

Talk about a "great" Quarterback.

I stand by my assertion that he is not a good quarterback. He is poor at reading defenses and consistantly throws the ball into coverage. Just because he has more touchdowns than interceptions that does not make him a "good" quarterback. He throws timely interceptions and is inconsistant. If any of you actually watched the Browns you would know this. But instead you rely on the national media which loves to distort things. Derek Anderson tossed 2 interceptions and fumbled the ball away against Arizona. Derek Anderson as had a QB rating above 90 in 5 games and has been below 80 in QB rating 6 times this season, the last 90+ QB rating game he had was against Houston. Since St. Louis Anderson's play has gone downhill. Anderson is getting worse as this season progresses - not better. Anderson is a weak link to the team and should be gone next year. Anderson is not responsible for the Browns "winning" it is the play of the recieveres, running backs, offensive line and special teams and not the QB.

Charlie he might not be "great"
but he is above average.

the wideouts cant catch the ball without someone getting it to him.
This is not me being wise, just honest..

He is no Tom Brady, Manning or Romo (this year)
but far from being a Rex GROSSman, John Beck or
even Alex Smith etc.

Mabye Quinn gets his chance, next season but I think
it would be hard for Savage/Crennel to just give up on a guy
that was instumental in their turnaround.

just being honest Charlie, not critcizing your opinon, which
you are entitled to. :salute:

See, that's the problem.

When you see a name all you think of is stats and not the actual person.

Gino Torretta had an amazing college career. Yet, he was surrounded by all these big-name players. Those big-name players caused his college stats to be so "good". While Torretta himself - was not "good".

That is what I am saying.

Anderson's stats are being "beefed" up because of the surrounding talent. Winslow, Edwards, Jurevicius - they are causing Anderson's stats to look "good" while he, himself is of sub-par talent.

It's the surrounding cast - not the player.

Let's just say I take that motto to heart. I don't care if people hate me - I know they hate me. I just want it to be at the point that they do not want to express that hatred. Because they fear the results it may have.

I don't hate you. You just bore the crap out of me with your incessant whining.

Brett Favre has thrown more INTs than any QB in history and he's one of the greatest of all time. Your arguement is null and void.

Yea I was going to say that as well.

Manning has 13 Ints this year
Romo has 14 Ints this year

Med says hes no Manning or Romo and Charlie just says he sucks but they have pretty much the same INTs.
Romo is undrafted so thats worse then being a 6th round pick. I dont think Romo is that great though actually.

Then we have Brees at 15 and Palmer at 17.

Anderson is 4th in the league in TD Passes.
Thats far from horrible.
PLUS he didn't start in week 1.

Brady has Moss
Manning has Wayne
Romo has TO
Anderson has Braylon.

None of those qbs are throwing the ball to themselves.

 @ Charlie

I agree with all of that except for what you said about Romo. He's a damn fine QB.

It should be painfully apparent that 1 season is completely different from 16 seasons.

Just because somebody leads in total interceptions thrown over a 16 year span is a person widely regarded as among the greatest does not mean one cannot complain about a person who is among the leaders in interceptions thrown in 1 season.

If that is the case - why complain about Ryan Leaf? Manning had a game were he threw 6 interceptions - so nobody should complain about Ryan Leaf.

LMAO. As long as you keep using analogies and comparisons like those, I can't get mad because they're so far off base and irrelevant to one another it's funny.

Well when Anderson is around for 10 seasons hopefully he will break the record.
And theres something about Romo that makes me wonder. He just pulls plays out of his butt. IMO Romo is as lucky as you can get.

But the main reason hes not any good is because he was undrafted.:elefant:

I like the old addage "you've gotta be good to be lucky".

Anderson is a gambler and a risk taker, just like Favre, just like Cutler. He's bound to throw some INTs, but judging by his numbers he doesn't make the same mistake very many times.

What are you talking about? I don't think you can scare people by being consistently wrong about football. The only result to expressing "hatred" towards you is a few laughs.

Charlie, the Browns are a passing team. Your QB has a pretty high number of attempts, the more you throw the ball the more INTS you are going to have.

To be fair I would not say that Charlie is whining or complaining that much, although to be honest when i read your game day posts last sunday it was like you where more focused on DA and rooting against him than rooting for your BROWNS!

Since this conversation has devolved into smack talk I went ahead and moved it.

I also wanted to post a reminder that personal attacks are off-limits. Smack the team...not the member.
