accidently downloaded a virus and for some reason I cant get I virus protection to take care of it. Anyone got an link to some free spyware
software. I need free as I am very poor.

I would go to cnet.com, click downloads, type in "free anti-virus" into search.

Then pick one that you like, and download it.

I don't know if doing a system restore from the previous day would be easier.

This is the one that our IT department have on the PC's at work, seems to work OK

Spybot Search & Destroy (http://www.download-spybot.net/spybot_spybot.htm)

edit ~ reminds me, I've not checked my pc for way too long :eek:

there is a guy called kaspersky (sp?), if you google it you should find it. He has a free 30=60 day trial. I like him more then sir norton. IT should be able to wipe out anything you got....But as we know i am not one with extensive computer knowledge.

We've used Kaspersky at work as well, not sure if it's the way that our IT people have set it up, but it seems to be pretty greedy on system resources, certainly one that you should maybe leave running overnight rather than in the background

I got it from there for free :confused:

rephrase, its free to block incoming (new) but wont clean out old stuff or current problems.

no wonder my puter is so slow.

however, I think Google is gonna fix that problem.
