ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Tim Patrick made his way through the Broncos’ locker room Thursday with crutches, wearing an enormous brace on his surgically repaired right knee and a smile.

“Mentally, I’m in a great place,’’ Patrick said as he leaned on his crutches near where Courtland Sutton was sitting at his locker.

Coming off back-to-back seasons where he had at least 50 catches, 730 yards and five touchdowns, Patrick suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) early in training camp. Patrick had gone up to make a contested catch, but it wasn’t how he landed that caused the injury.

“It happened when I took off,’’ he said. “I took off and tried to plant. I planted, and it just gave out on me.”

He went down in obvious pain, but he didn’t think it was an ACL tear.

Of course he is. He's banking a lot of money without taking any hits.

Speaking of guys living on the couch, OT Ju'Juan Jones is on somebody's IR. That guy's pay per actual games played has gotta be tops in the league.

He has always over achieved. Injuries suck.

He completely flipped his career last 2 years and was our saving grace at wideout while Jeudy was busy busting. However if game 1 was a indicator Jeudy may be seeing the light finally, which makes or will make the Patrick loss more palpable......

It's a shame Tim Patrick ends his season before it starts. The injury will significantly blow the Denver Broncos' season if the damage is severe. He will be able to recover and be ready for next season, so be sure to give him a shout-out on Twitter and wish him a speedy recovery. When I injured my anterior cruciate ligament, I had to go to sport physiotherapy (https://www.liveactivesportmed.com/services-overview/physiotherapy/) for a couple of weeks, which helped me heal. I hope Tim Patrick can recover quickly and get back on the team because his absence is a big blow to the offense.
