I’m so happy to see Meinerz come into his own and develop into the type of player I was envisioning. Next man up it’s always the theme in the NFL when players get hurt, and he’s been gaining valuable playing time.
We have a strong running game but we can’t use it for shit. Hopefully this changes everything going forward.

One thing about Meinerz is that I thought he was going to be a day one starter, then I realized that coming from a small school may turn out to be too much for him to overcome at the NFL level. I was picturing him at center, but it seems like he’s a better fit to play interior lineman. He’s shown a tremendous heart to make it at this level. He’s a pure old school football player. He has the drive of a Lyle Alzado...

That’s never been my narrative, but it appears to be the general consensus here. I’ve always believed -and I’ve gone one record to say it- that this is the best OL we’ve had in a long time. What really surprised me is the emergence of some young bulls on the interior line that has transformed oir running game, and if we consistently establish the run, our pass protect will improve
