now where are all the dumb shits who were saying we should trade him off for whatever anyone would give us? cuz i heard a lot of that junk late last year. . .

Yep I thought the change to 3-4 was going to benifit him the most since he seems to fit better as a OLB in a 3-4 than a DE in a 4-3.

Doing a good job rushing, and he's made a number of plays against the run in the first two games and almost reached the QB on several rushes last week.

I totally love the 3 - 4 defense and Dumervil playing LB...fantastic move.
Shine on Dumervil, you are incredible!

Doom rocked! Can't say that for Ryan Harris. He better pick it up. Both speed and power rushers are giving him fits thus far. I wonder if his back is worse than he's letting on?

I think this shows how bad of a DC Slovik was last year. When Doom is given a good DC he is put in places to make plays.

When our WHOLE TEAM is given a good DC, lots of things change.

I'm really shocked at the night and day turnaround of the D. Even if they slip against the better teams I think they have what we need to be in every game.

Doom was great! Our whole defensive team has been good. I can't remember so many different types of blitz packages (specially CB blitz). It has been a while since I watched our Broncos on D when everyone played 100 percent until the whistle blows.

Nolan looks like he his busting his butt off for our team and it has shown.

I want to know why McDaniels pulled Marshall out in the first half though (Sound was not on the game at sports bar)

The record is 7 in one game but I wouldn't think that this (4) is too common.

Side note... even though Dallas did get deep into the red zone on the last drive, I was SO happy we didn't use the "prevent" defense. I hope Nolan learned that lesson against Cincy. He was bringing it a whole lot of the plays on the final drive. LOVED it.

Derek Thomas owns the single game record at 7 against the SeaChickens, but one was changed and given to him after he got his 4th..so It should be 6 which Derek Thomas did one other time too! Damn freaking Cheif anyway!

not yet amigo.

Treavor Price....or bertrand berry--one of them had 12.5 one year. So its got to be around 15 id say. Not sure.

but DOOM is half way there already. At this pace???? 32 sacks on the season....

Thats got to be some kind of record, not just franchise.

Man your sig says it all. It's been since 05 since we had a defense. A real defense....and in all honestly this D can, and I think will, be better. Dawkins is exactly what I expected him to be. The secondary is solid, the D line is growing, Doom is awesome, and the other LB's are getting comfortabable/growing. 26 points, 4 games.

100% for real. This DEFENSE is fun to watch.

I was bein' silly... He's on pace to put some hurt on the NFL record.... but I see him breaking the franchise record and falling short of the league record.

Hope not though!

22.0 Mark Gastineau, N.Y. Jets, 1984

thanks PN-- i figured it had to be either fletcher or meck. . . obviously, elvis now has a great chance to challeneg that record this year. . . i'd love to see him get it, both because it would be great for the team, and because he's an easy guy to root for. . . it's always fun to see the little guys (literally) succeed, and you have to appreciate his hustle and intensity. . .

opposing teams are really going to have to start giving him extra attention if they don't want him killing their quarterbacks. . . . how cool is it that he has more sacks to this point than james harrison and demarcus ware combined?

You're welcome dog.

Since I have the book out....Pryce, Alfred Williams, Meck and Alzado all had 13.0 in a year. What surprised me was the Elvis had 12.5 in 2007 and only 5 in 2008 and 8.5 in 2006. Man Slovik was that bad.

I can believe how spun up I am. I am so tired and yet I know if I go to bed my eyes will just pop open.

ten sacks in six games. . . seriously, reaching double digit sacks is the benchmark of an excellent season for a pass rusher, and he's done it in SIX freaking games! it's hard to think that he can keep up this unbelievable, torrid pace, but this guy is playing out of his head right now. . .
