The Shield is easily one of the best shows I ever saw. I cant recommend it enough to anyone who watches TV. It isnt your typical cop show.

Anyone looking for something new to watch absolutely must check it out. Chiklis i know is a hard sell but he is surprisingly excellent in this role.

The series was based and inspired by the LAPD Rampart scandal.

The acting is top notch and after watching The Shield other cop shows like Law and Order and NCIS and CSI are totally unwatchable to me.

Other FX series Sons of Anarchy and The Mayans takes place in the same universe, succeeded The Shield after its run.

Wire v shield

McNulty was no Vic Mackey.

The Wire wasnt consistent in its episodes or Seasons. Every season of the Shield was excellent. Near every episode was 3rd happened holy ****

Wire wasnt also totally dedicated to police procedural/operations. Shield pulled this off.

All just my opinion. Shield was incredible.

Me too. Forrest Whitaker killed it in S5-6. One of the best seasons of the show amd best protagonists ever. Gripping tv. Even better than Sopranos IMO. Sopranos may have been first but had while seasons that were meh. Every episode of The Shield was incredibly deep amd well acted across the board.
