As the Broncos prepare for their preseason matchup with the Seahawks, former quarterback Paxton Lynch had some comparisons to make between the two teams.

Paxton Lynch was out of football for the entire 2018 season. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos shortly after the team won Super Bowl 50. However, he would never find himself as the franchise quarterback after losing training camp battle after training camp battle to other quarterbacks.

He would lose the job to Trevor Siemian and then could not even beat Chad Kelly for the backup spot. Once the team was able to sign Kevin Hogan, the Paxton Lynch experiment came to an end. Fast forward to the end of the season, and Paxton Lynch now has a job behind Russell Wilson in Seattle.

On Thursday, Lynch will get his shot against his former team as Denver travels to Seattle for the next preseason game against the Seahawks. He met with the media on Friday and provided his experience between Seattle and Denver.

If that's "shade", he doesn't even throw that well.

He tried to throw shade, but it got intercepted.

I didnt really see any shade there personally. The article seems to be making more of it than necessary. Either way, I will enjoy watching Paxton get worked over by our team.

They should’ve kept and started PL, zero chance in hell that he’d been worse than Case Siemian.

Wonder how tall Buzz Keesum would be if he had a neck, bout 5’-11”?

Among the worst first round draft picks in NFL history by virtue of him being a QB who is so terrible that he's still unemployed.

It looked with me that he's upset over the criticism that he received in Denver because he was a 1st round draft pick that never played to that level. He doesn't have to worry about that in Seattle because the most he has to hope for there is to be a career backup who's name everyone will forget

lol Paxton lynch wasn't treated like family here because he spent more time playing xbox then focusing on his craft. I remember numerous reports his first year about how welcoming everyone in Denver was and how much he liked being here. Then he proceeded to be a crap Qb for the next 3 years, his performance dictated the kind of player he was so he deserved everything he got. Also he hasn't been doing well in TC for the Seahawks according to the local beat reporters up there and I have number of friends that visited TC for the Seahawks and don't think he will make the 53.....

It remains to be seen, but I wouldn't hold my breath about Paxton being welcomed in Seattle for long....lol

Murky waters. Can't argue we'd be worse off though. Worst case, we could have had higher picks. PL very well could have driven the leadership bus so deep, we'd still be years more in the negative from where we are.

Just saying...at least Case/ Siemian cared.

Everyone saying they should have just played PL, are forgetting what happened when they tried that. THAT was the plan. They would have taken their lumps with him. Then he turned into a giant weeping vaj on the field and feigned injury so he wouldn't have to play.

I think the Lynch fiasco taught Elway amd Co well, that they really needed to do things differently. Part of the reason why Kubiak was brought in as a consultant maybe. Either way, after the last two Drafts, doing good things so far.

Lynch was drafted when Kubiak was still the head coach.

I can’t believe elway drafted him. All personal shots aside.

I watched a few of his games at Memphis and was thrilled when we moved up to get him. He had the arm, he had the mobility and he was resourceful. But he was from a spread offense and I don't think he ever adapted nor did his confidence grow. He just grew worse and worse when he should have been better and better. The Lynch mistake really opened the door for everything that followed. I just hope Drew Lock will be different. At least Lock has a second-round draft grade to keep him humble. I thought Mahomes was going to be a bust, particularly with Fat Boy coaching him. Mahomes was another spread offense QB.

Yeah that was a pretty dumb take. Reid is one of the best offensive coaches in football and has been for decades.

If that's "shade", he doesn't even throw that well.

He tried to throw shade, but it got intercepted.

There's the quote of the day!

Actually, there will be a dent in the stadium wall about 15 yards out of bounds, where Paxton tried to throw some shade, but his footwork was all tangled, his throwing angle was wildly inconsistent so the ball flew over the receiver's head out of bounds and hit the wall -- just like at the Broncos practice facility!

Unemployed for 2 years and about to get cut again!!!

Apparently he still has practice squad eligibility so he should wind up on Seattle's practice squad. He's one of those players who stick around in the league because they are cheap, on the practice squad until their practice squad eligibility expires, then they are replaced by other cheap practice squad players.

His chances of ever becoming a starting QB in the NFL are as close to zero as can be measured by science!

Paxton says Denver's 3rd and 4th string can suck it......

Depending what he does next week, he has a chance at 3rd QB if Seattle wants to go that route, but I still saw a mediocre player last night judging the level of talent who he played against....we saw the same thing some flashes against scrubs, then when it came time to even prove he could be number 2 he failed....

He's on a team where they NEVER expect him to be the starter. So, there's no pressure unless Russell Wilson gets hurt. In Denver people expected him to become a star QB and he just fell completely flat under that pressure. Remember him crying on the sideline? There's no crying in the NFL!

Now he's just trying to stick around in the league as a backup somewhere after being out of football last year. This isn't the start of some big comeback.

This is just another in a long line of former first round busts, being given a chance to become career backups somewhere else. He might make the team or practice squad, but Pete Carroll desperately hopes Paxton never sees the field.

Paxton would never in hell have lasted a full NFL season and he wouldn't last now.

He knows 8 plays. The same 8 plays he ran at Memphis. The coaching staff was watching from the sidelines watching Paxton and shaking their heads.

In his last pre-season game for the Broncos he could still run the same plays he was good at in the beginning, but no more. Everything else he tried other than that RPO plays he couldn't do it.

Why not run those RPO crap plays then? That was the Tebow experiment. It got the Broncos to that miracle playoff game, but miracles don't repeat themselves. It would have never happened again.

And Tebow got his ribs crushed in the Patriots game so that he could not have played in the AFC Championship Game if by some miracle the Broncos had beaten the Patriots. That style just doesn't last in the NFL.

Running QBs like RGIII or Cam Newton get injured and either learn to stop that crap and become pocket-passing QBs or else quit the league.

Paxton ran the same plays. He's good at those limited number of plays.

And against a defense using backups that doesn't game-plan to stop that offensive style it works.
