I could care less about the bad feelings he has towards the team. He bled orange, brought the wood and is one of my very favorite Broncos of all time. Best Broncos MLB I’ve seen play.

I was wondering this. It looked clean, but in today's NFL, you never know.

I'm 99.9% certain that it wouldn't draw a flag, but theirs always the possibility that a ref is going to throw a flag just for looking at a QB cross-eyed.

He played at Tennessee the same time as Manning and knew that 90% of his pre snap yapping was fake...;-)
Also, I remember that huge hit he put on Antonio Gates...

Also, I remember that huge hit he put on Antonio Gates...
Guy was a beast and one of my faves.

He was a freakish athlete too. He had legit 4.5 speed, great instincts and a killer attitude. I remember him covering Marshall Faulk like a blanket early in his career and picking off a pass about 30 yards down the seam. There weren’t many guys who could hang with Faulk in a pass route.

He’s been ok this year. We don’t have any guys like we had in years past who could cover well, ie Al Wilson, Trevaithan. Marshall was good in coverage at one time, but he’s been outlplayed by Todd this year, which is scary.

He was so good that he masked the deficiencies of an otherwise horrid defense. We thought we were decent until he left and slowik showed up. He literally gave up his body for this team and they shafted him twice. He could no longer even wrap up at the end because his kneck and shoulders were so bad

Jaded was right about Vander. He’s big and athletic (4.5 speed). He leads the team in tackles and has been causing turnovers.

Jaded, the only way the Broncos are going to get a guy like we’re discussing is if they go after him in the first. Guys like that aren’t available in the mid rounds. Trevaithan was a lucky find.

It's not all talent though. Sure, talent wins...but desire is easy to ignore, hard to identify. Guys like Al Wilson, Ronnie Lott, guys who would die for their bros almost literally. For some it's just something they do, something they are good at.

Todd D feels like he's got a lot of the latter, but isn't the most talented tracklete.

Focus on 2nd and 4th round picks, you could literally take any of these LB’s (except Deion Jones, Miles Jack) and still get Adam Gotsis in the 4th. Fact is, they possibly believed Todd Davis was a better player, they were wrong.

Keep in mind, Brandon Marshall was scheduled to become a FA too ... yet ... Todd Davis.

my favorite al wilson memory was the way he stepped up before his contract year. . . it was so important to him to earn it that he organized dinner meetings for the entire defense every week, and paid the whole tab himself. . . dude was a born leader, a true baller, and a class act all the way. . . best true LB (not hybrid edge rusher) to wear the orange and blue since the days of meck and gradishar. . . LVE is like a bigger #56. . . that guy would have been a sweet pick if he was still there in the second. . . ain't complaining about sutton, though. . .

Mecklenberg was a hybrid. He was drafted as defensive end and eventually moved to linebacker.
