I posted it in the weekly practice notes/news thread, but it might be worthy of its own discussion. We brought him in for a visit this week. For those unfamiliar with him, he's a bit of a legend in the CFL. He's a heck of a QB at that level and I think his game could translate well to the NFL.

He's the 2x CFL Most outstanding player (basically league MVP) He holds the record for most consecutive wins my a starting QB (14) the record for best starting record for a first time QB (12 wins 1 loss) He's the fastest CFL QB to get to 60 wins (72 games). During his time in the CFL he's won two grey cup championships (their superbowl) and he was the MVP of both of those games.

His record as a QB is 69-15-2. The guy's a winner. They are slightly more pass happy in Canada (plus obviously, he's comfortable playing in the snow) and he's got pretty good stats. Over the last 4 years of his career he's averaged 4,938 yards per year, 29 TD, 11 INT 64.67 completion percentage and has a QB rating of 99.45.

I really hope we end up landing the guy. I really feel like he's going to have a really bright future in the NFL.

Worth a shot. We aren't getting anyone good in FA or the draft this year.

I was more impressed with the arm of the qb from Ottawa in that game.

I see Case Keenum in that video. The windows will be much tighter in the NFL.

Neither one of those quarterbacks seemed all that impressive.

If the Broncos are interested I’m going to assume he’s about 6-1/200, ragarmed with a certain I-don’t-know-what “It” factor.

Edit. Imagine my surprise.

Imagine a team FULL of odd 3 named people. They might suck but the commentary would be fun.

I'm not so sure, there are a couple prospects we have shots at this year that are worth a 1st or 2nd rd. pick to develop and push Keenum. In fact I'm starting to see mocks having us select Haskins in Rd 1. Not sure how I feel about that as a I think he is to raw at the moment and should stay in school another year, but he does have the skill set and passion. I also could see us trying to trade up for Lock, or taking a chance on Grier or Thorson in Rd. 2. Those 3 just mentioned have extensive experience, a legit NFL skillset, and have performed well for the most part against elite competition.

I wouldn't mind him or Lefleur as OC or maybe even HC in Denver at all.....
