I am not sure the last time they won in that time slot and it seems like it makes no difference who they play. Their most embarrassing performance in a while against a bad Jets team at 1 o clock this year. They almost always lose to the Ravens as we know.

I get it. Winning on the road is hard, but when is the last time the Broncos won in that time slot?

I'm not sure either. Hm.

Not entirely sure but i think they did beat the Bengals on the tipped pass to Stokely which i think was a 1pm game. We may have had a win more recent but that game comes to mind currently.

While the Broncos do have a winning record in early Sunday games in this time period (32-29), in 12 out of 21 seasons when the Broncos had to play early, they indeed had a worse record than their overall record, with 7 seasons being better. Now, you may be thinking, as I did, that this doesn’t tell us enough. Sometimes the teams drawn on the road just happen to be easier or tougher than the Broncos are. So I decided to look at the records of each individual team that the Broncos played on the road in the early slot.

First, let’s start with the wins. The key number we’re looking for here are the number of wins against teams with a better record than the Broncos.

Let's skip last year, cause we just sucked anytime we played:

2016: 3-1 at 1 PM, 6-6 at other times
2015: 2-0 at 1PM, 10-4 at other times
2014: 1-1 at 1 PM, 11-3 at other times

Over those three years we are 6-2 at 1 PM, and 27-13 at all other start times, meaning we had a better winning % in the early games. FWIW we haven't won a 1PM game since 2016.

If you do further research, it's basically when the team is good they win 1 PM, when they're bad they lose. The start time doesn't have any real affect on the outcome.

Yeah this game worries me for a lot of reasons. Just a classic trap game feel. I had this same feeling heading into the Jets game and we saw how that turned out. If we can win this game, I'll feel a lot more confident that we've righted the ship and could make a real playoff push.

The Bengals will play conservative relying on defense and the running game. I suppose we’ll do the same thing because it’s what we always do. I really hope we play press and stack the box.

The team that turns the ball over will lose.

So in other words in a year like this where we are inconsistent it is basically a 50/50 going into Sunday. Lol

Technically on paper we should win this game anyway. Without Dalton the Bengals should be that much worse but we all know how the Broncos like to play down to the level of their opponent, etc. If the team is motivated im hoping they do to the Bengals what they did to the Cardinals.

Yeah the games we SHOULD win easily (especially the early games going east) are always the ones that worry me the most. Especially coming off two big wins.

The other thing is AJ Green has been hurt and im not sure he is playing Sunday so that "should" be another thing in the favor of the Broncos. if he doesnt play and we still cant beat them than... well you know. lol

Yep, pretty much. If we win or lose, the start time will have nothing to do with it, we're inconsistent at any time of the day, lol

Broncos are favored by -4.5 and Broncos offense is getting better. QB Keenum rhymes with them.

Denver beat the Bengals in Cincinnati two years ago. The very next week the Broncos played at Tampa Bay, I don't remember for sure but I think it too was an early game, which Denver also won.

Denver has historically struggled at Miami going 1-8 all time, with the only win coming in 2011 in a god awful game. That probably skews our opinion a little, but those games are few and far between, and it’s hard to tell if those were all early games. That goes back to 1966, fwiw.

We beat them in 2015 when McManus hit the game winner in OT, then beat them again in 2016 when Siemian threw 4 TDs (1 PM game which is the theme of this thread lol). Did you mean back to back in Cinci? (2015 was in Denver)

Here decipher for yourself. Regardless of time starts...Broncos haven’t lost twice in a row to Cincy.

Plus lots of 11:00 AM (1:00 PM) games in KC, which is always the house of horrors. Looking over the results there really isn't much difference in the winning % based on start time, so it's all just perception.

The start time doesn't worry me so much as the fact that we're coming off two big wins into a game we should definitely win and against a QB with basically no tape on him. Classic letdown scenario. I still don't fully trust this coaching staff to have them up for a game like this. If we win this one I'll start to believe.

Yep, that should be what this thread is a about and not the start time. If we lose it'll be because of the reasons you listed.
