ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — On the heels of his game-changing interception in the Broncos’ 23-22 comeback win over the Chargers, Von Miller has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 11, the NFL announced.
Miller’s third-quarter interception of Philip Rivers and ensuing 42-yard return gave the Broncos the football at the Los Angeles 18-yard line and led to a Royce Freeman touchdown. Following Miller’s big play, the Broncos went on a 16-3 run to overcome a 12-point deficit.
He also recorded a first-half sack, which marked his 100th career sack (including postseason). Only four players have reached that mark faster than Miller, who got there in 121 games.
