View Full Version : Is Case Keenum playing possum?

Case is the QB of the future. The only reason he didn't impress us already is because he is playing possum.

Is that all it is? I just thought he was a noodle armed journeyman who struggles with reads and accuracy, throwing more picks than TDs, and holds the ball too long forcing his Oline to get more holding calls... silly me.

So it’s kinda a, “I’m not really a shitty QB, but I play one in TV” scenario? Sweet you can tell him he’s won the award for best actor and he can play like an actual NFL starting QB now...

For all you 'suck for a QB'........Oregon plays UDub today early, so you can watch that Herbert kid (Oregon's QB) play against a pretty good defense from UDub.

BTW....it's not a jab, but just letting y'all know.

Yeah, Manning is the only one that can play possum and get away with it. We’re screwed

Manning? Wasn't it lynch who was playing possum?

Losing 4 games in a row is some next level possumry. These upcoming teams have no idea what's in store for them when old Case Keesum comes to play.

It will come after the bye, then we'll go into the play-offs with an 7 game winning streak. Assuming of course 9-7 is enough to get us in.

Who was playing possum originally? After a while everyone who sucked was playing possum and now I can’t remember who started it all.

Manning was a possum at that point. A possum with a team of killers that enforced his will and a complete understanding that he was a possum. He wasn't playing and no one was fooled. He just happened to be the best defense-reading possum in NFL history to have one of the best defenses in said history on his side when he did just barely enough to win. Possum kicked ass in a very non-heroic way that day.

Otherwise agreed. We're screwed...unless the team moves beyond it's leaders.

Despite the blowout case was still pretty bad last night. If you take out the wide open deep TD to Sanders he really didn't do anything.

He threw a really nice looking pass to Patrick Peterson.

To be fair...he didn't really have to do anything. Which is pretty much how it should be. Strong defense...strong run game...adequate passing.

It’s hard to consistently win with a qb best suited to doing nothing.

The one flaw in that plan....we aren't playing the Cardinals every week.

Even that throw sucked balls. Sanders had to pitch a tent and make camp waiting for that ball. Luckily he was the only one in Tibet at the time.

I also noticed something unique in this game. Pap was used in the first half while Freeman was in the game.

Manning simply tore a tendon in his foot in August and it never really got much better. He probably had surgery on it after the season. He was retired and doesn't have to tell anybody any more about his medical history. No more NFL mandatory medial disclosures.

Well, he couldn't throw effectively without that tendon. Like being a club-foot. You throw with your lower body and he couldn't.

The sad thing is that Manning would have actually been the best QB on the roster in 2016. Had they known Osweiler sucked so bad, they would never have planned on keeping him, and could simply have kept Manning. He would have been healthy again by next September and would have been much better. Whether he would have STAYED that way through out an entire season may perhaps be doubted. Still, better than Trevor or Paxton!

Having a ‘16 QB depth chart of PFM, Paxton Lynch and Trevor Siemian might have been the one that got away, we were all shortsighted on that.
