This is acceptable. If he's handling nuclear waste from the Pala Verde nuclear power plant, I'm moving to another state before he drops 1 of the containers.

I'm cautiously optimistic so I'll say 10-6. OK that was wildly optimistic, but there's no point in being totally negative at this point, with good cause. The team appears to be much improved from last year and they will have a QB who doesn't totally suck for the first time in years.

That could realistically mean they win the division. It might also mean the wheels come off the bus and they crash and burn to 6-10 or something and fire VJ.

If the OL isn't really improved. . . .
If Keenum really regresses from last year's play . . . .
If Booker is the starting RB and nobody else shines. . . .
If Sanders and DT show their age and nobody else really steps up. . . .
If the secondary is a disaster without Talib. . . .
If Ray is ineffective, Chubb is still a rookie and offenses can concentrate on neutralizing Von Miller again. . . .
If VJ does not improve as a head coach in his second season. . . .
If no TE is any better than last year's group. . . .

IF injuries decimate the starters, especially on the paper thin OL. . . .

All this could upend any optimism completely, but none of it has happened YET, so there's no reason to predict it NOW! :cheers:

Elway doesn't let VJ make the right QB depth chart adjustments, then the team realizes VJ has no power and he is just waiting to get fired. Team starts slow, VJ gets fired, interim coach finishes out with 3 or 4 wins during last 8 games.

If you had asked me prior to Saturday I would have optimistically said 12-4.

We'll be lucky to win 5 games, this team has 12-4 talent, but they don't have the talent to overcome the coaching staff. This year isn't going to be pretty on any level.

Nobody game-plans for a pre-season game. That's not what they are for.

But, the point remains. VJ was not the right choice. They should have signed Kyle Shanahan who is looking like a great coach in SF right now.

Yup when you complain so much you end up losing sight of facts, Broncos and joe woods defense was top 5 in every category, they were also 18 in points which says we were big play prone on defense. Chubb Miller gotsis wolfe will change alot of that.

I wish I could be as optimistic as you. For us to hit 9-7 they would have to fire VJ after the preseason game this weekend and somehow bring Bill Cowher out of retirement.

I'll also go 6-10 for the same reason as some others - no faith in either VJ or Woods.

The last draft was a good one, but it's seeming less likely Chubb makes as big an immediate impact as hoped. Hindsight should be interesting on whether that should have been a QB. Could be a lot of mediocrity for awhile in Denver.

Feels like an 8-8 team, two-game swing on turnovers; bonus up or down for quarterback play/pass rush effectiveness. Range 5-11 to 11-5.

I’ll say 9-7, and Keenum plays decent with Freeman breaking out and having a nice rookie season on offense.

Hard to tell how the thirds looked at least offensively with Lynch. Defensively, not so hot.

Chase Daniels is a 10 year vet, he should have done just what he did and it was acceptable, Lynch starting in positive territory being a 3rd year player and being unable to at least get 3, not acceptable.

Prediction, about the same as i had early, 7-9 to 9-7 with 7-9 being where i see us. Still to much question about coaching, and i really dont have a lot of faith in any of these QBs.

Is it wrong for me to want Jack of the River to be back as a DC? I hated his D style, but its better than woods. Woods reminds me of the LB coach we had for 1 year to replace the all time worst DC weve ever had (no way will I mention his name- there is a curse associated with it. YOu all know to whom I am speaking). I just do not have faith that woods can get the right call at the right time. Not be predictable and adjust.


So I am going with an optimistic 10-6. I feel good about the offense. Better than the defense.



If I could make any moves, it would be to add a DB. We do not need a vet QB. We seem to be okay at RT. We need that third CB badly though. Or a DC. That would work too.

Good Ole Wink has actually had a good career post Denver. Won a Superbowl with the Ravens, he's currently their defensive coordinator. They've had the 3rd best defense so far this preseason. I'd actually take him back, he seems to have learned a thing or two since he left us.
