I don't eat it very much any more (I miss you bacon!) but when I do, I bake it.

I always seemed to over cook when frying in a pan. i like my bacon to be slightly crispy, with just a little bit of chew to it. Dark brown really crunchy bacon isn't my thing.

Pan fried. Has to be a cold pan. I modulate the temperature making sure it gets up to high for at least a small bit, but spend longer at the end on med-low.

If you are cooking a large amount of bacon it is definitely the way to go. You can't even make a good argument for another method if dealing with large quantities.

iVE NEVer even heard of baking bacon. I want to try it.

I do not make bacon often but when I do its in a pan on the stove. I will say the last bacon I made was candied bacon and that was baked in the oven, but I had to microwave the bacon initially so I am not sure that counts as a full on baking.

What about an air fryer? Isn't that baking but also frying in a way? Does a convection oven make a difference? If you bake it without the cooling rack aren't you also frying it as it's cooking in its own juices? Is a Foreman grill considered frying? What about an actual grill? I have smoked bacon before, and it was PHENOMENAL.

There are more options than you're allowing here.

Sometimes third world countries like England lack the kitchen appliances we take for granted. That's why they immigrated here.

I'm not gonna buy a microwave that I will rarely use. There's really not anything that I would use a microwave for.

Ok, I pray someday your roommates will achieve the american dream of microwave burritos, popcorn.

Now that I am an owner of a high quality air fryer I cook my bacon exclusively in that appliance. You set it for about 20 minutes, walk away for ten minutes and then flip and ten minutes later it's done.

No constant flipping, no mess on your stove top and clean up is a breeze!

I've gone old school and returned to frying bacon in lard like we did when I was a kid. So much tastier.
I'll sometimes cook it outdoors on the Swedish Ranger trangia. Everything tastes better in the fresh air.

So you add extraneous fat to your bacon cooking process?

Ingenious!

I do it in my very old cast iron, low and slow and let it cook in its own fat…

Then I get the bacon, the dog gets the fat on his food…

There is no other legit way to make bacon…

The Dog climbs on top of the bench outside our kitchen window and spends the whole time on it's rear legs staring lovingly at me while I fry the bacon.
I usually mop up the fat with a slice of bread and chuck it out to Poppy the Spaniel.

Line the pan with foil and it makes it super easy to pour the bacon fat into a mason jar. If you don't have a mason jar full of bacon fat in your fridge, are you really even cooking?
