View Full Version : Is there an answer? I have no idea what that is. I think this team is in a race with the Giants right now.

This team has so many problems and there are no easy answers. I think Elway is safe, and even though I blame him for this shit that is here now, he has built a lot of loyalty here. We can see this as a road bump if you will in his GM career. Fact is he has had MEGA success as a GM. Although, I have to admit I am sour about him right now, especially as I see the Rams defense kicking ass.

Ok, now that that is out of the way, I think the rest of the team needs to be gutted. I don't have any real clue who they could hire. Maybe Harbaugh, but that is not going to happen. Get real everyone. That is not going to happen. The scary thing is the hottest NFL coordinator right now is probably......MCDANIELS. Uhhhh huh. Maybe someone can list the hot names. Some realistic ones please. I personally do not think it really matters if that coordinator is a defensive or offensive coach. That really does not mean much as far as how that translates to how teams play. Meaning, Belichick was a DEFENSIVE minded coach, and the offenses in NE are among the greatest in history. Tony Dungy was a defensive minded coach, and the Colts offenses were great. There are all sorts of examples like that.

I think we can all assume that the QB that would need to be here that would take this franchise to where we want it, is not on the roster. The hot names coming out of college are Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, and Baker Mayfield. I am sure there are others. Right now the teams that need a QB are the Browns, Giants and Broncos. Looks like the Browns are on the inside track for that 1st pick. The Giants are behind them, which would potentially mean Baker Mayfield would be the pick. Which, in my estimation, would be a nightmare. Do not want a freaking BIG XII QB on this roster. I know, that could be a fallacy. Name the last BIG XII QB that has had a long successful career in the NFL. We all get enamored withe the big stats and it hardly ever translates to the NFL.

I just typed 3 paragraphs of BS. I have no idea what the answers are. This is thing is so FUBARed right now. Every aspect of this team blows other than Sanders. Here is a horrible thought. Sanders is probably gone after this year.

Here is another horrible thought. I will bet VJ is back next year.

Anyone have any clue?

It could be worse. Denver is still two Seasons removed from a Championship.

They are at a crossroads for the future now and decisions that are made are going to be crucial for next year.

I think VJ is out of here. No way he survives after this.

Gotta go back to the Broncos tree for a new Coach.

Sure. They do what ever other losing franchise does. They go out in the top 15 picks of the draft and draft a franchise QB and then spend the next two seasons grooming him to be an elite NFL QB.

At the same time they need to fire the entire coaching staff and start rebuilding there. Dump salary of elite players like Aqib Talib. No point in having an elite defense built on free agents if you're not competitive in your own division, and the Broncos are the AFC Worst right now.

So the problem for this season is: there are a lot of shitty teams right now.

The 49ers just beat the Colts. That's bad, since the Broncos are in competition with the Colts for the 2nd worst record in the NFL. They have to lose to the Bengals and Colts. As for the Bengals, that's likely, but the Colts are tanking deliberately without Luck.

That probably means Denver will finish with no better than the #3 pick. And there are 6 teams with 3-6 records right now. Win a last minute, meaningless game week 16 or something, and you could fall all the way to 10th in the draft and not have any chance at a top 3 QB.

That's what I fear the most. That the team will rally to win 2 meaningless late season games and will take themselves right out of a top QB pick. They can afford to win no more than 1 more game this year if they want a top 5 pick, because the Giants, 49ers, Bears and Bucs aren't winning any more than the Broncos and there will be about 10 teams desperately wanting one of maybe 3 potential franchise QBs in the draft.

Agreed. The answer is we are in rebuild mode and it's time to stop pretending we aren't. We need to get younger and we need to build from the ground up. The Super Bowl team was all based on great free agents lured here by a HOF Quarter Back. I'm fine with that, just don't play with my emotions and kill the Cowboys in week 2!

We need some stability and some time. I can be patient seeing as how we had an incredible run under Manning. If anything I'm frustrated that we didn't wipe the slate sooner after he retired. I'm envious of the Rams and Eagles right now for getting their young teams up to speed after some growing pains.

Was this not also the case with the late 90s Broncos teams (Smith, Romo, Zimm, etc)?

Everyone needs to settle down, the answer is simple. There is nothing wrong with this team, I was told by a lot of people on here that the defence was still elite and are just tired because the offence is so bad. So this is how I see it...

The defence looks like hot garbage because they're tired because the offence is a pile of dung.
The offense is a pile of dung because they're tired because the special teams are a joke.
The special teams are a joke because they're tired because the defence is hot garbage.

It's simple everyone, they're just tired.

The answer is strong coffee, or Columbian marching powder.

Lol...

Good stuff. That was funny.

I may take to strong drink, myself. The 2017 Broncos do not bear watching without heavy doses of alcohol. Its my only answer

It's like that weird season of Breaking Bad, you don't really appreciate the strong script writing until later. This season of The Broncos is more drama packed than many if you think about it.

Fifty pounds of blow washed up on shore just south of me.

So let’s pretend it washed up outside my condo. Who’s gonna help me fence it?

Except that this is all wrong.

The Offense sucks because the offense sucks. Special teams suck because Special Teams suck. The defense sucks because the defense wore down. They have a ton of talent on defense including the NFL's most valuable defensive player. They have ZERO talent on offense. None.

ON offense, DT and Sanders are hurt. None of the others is worth mentioning. Special teams features a "return specialist" who fumbles the ball about 1/2 the time and a FG kicker who just signed a big contract and decided to suck from now on.

so you're saying the defense wore down right from the start of the game? they were wore down from practice or maybe the drive over? Because sucking right from the ******* start cannot be blamed on being tired.

**** off with the tired shit, this defense isn't good, yes the player's talent level is beyond good, but the execution sure the **** isn't. Quit blaming bad D play on the offense
