View Full Version : Broncos’ Shane Ray: “We’re all just as pissed as the fan base and everybody else”

Everything changes when the wins fade and the losses pile up. The narrative changes, frustration builds, the cheers turn to jeers and the vicious cycle spins with no clear end in sight.

The Broncos know this because they’re living it. They’ve experienced the highest of highs in winning Super Bowl 50 with a historically elite defense. And they’re experiencing a low that most on the roster have never faced as a Bronco or as a pro: a four-game losing streak.

And awaiting them is a meeting Sunday against the Super Bowl champion Patriots, who have the NFL’s best offense.

“It’ll be good if the fans still believe,” running back C.J. Anderson said of returning home following a three-game road stretch. “We get a lot of things on social media whether they believe or not. We need them out there, 76-77,000 strong, yelling, being loud, disrupting (Tom) Brady and his calls. It feels good to come home and have some home cooking.”

Our pass rush is actually worse with Ray in. At least Shaq Barrett would get pressures, the occasional sack, and run stuffs. Ray doesn’t even set the edge for shit anymore.

He played a bit last week or the week before? I remember he was out of position on one play. I imagine he tried to come back and then his injury still kept him from being effective so they took him out?

Ray has been injured this season, so we haven't seen him healthy. When he's healthy he's a serious pass-rushing talent.

Shane Ray is the least of their problems.

Barrett is massively overrated, dude had 2 whole sacks in 7 games without Ray ... sell high.

Nah, like he was there but not really, so we hope he actually shows up this Sunday.

this is correct. . . we've seen him do it before, he'll be fine long term. . . i don't expect to get that much from him this year. . . he's playing with a cast or brace, is probably still not in his best football shape, and we seem to have a DC who is reluctant to generate extra pressure through the scheme. . . basically, just one more cog in what is turning into a great wheel of suck this year. . . ain't nobody real happy when you go on long losing streaks. . . pretty much everybody is open for criticism. . . guys like 56 and 58 aren't who i'm worried about, though. . .
