@psmyth12

Including tonight, the Broncos have sold out 388 consecutive home games in Denver dating back to 1970. That's the longest streak in the NFL.

The Denver Broncos have one of the strongest home-field advantages in the National Football League. And while it’s nearly impossible to be completely objective on this topic, the Broncos do have one massively powerful statistic going for them.

The streak began at the team’s old venue, Mile High Stadium, and has continued into their current venue, Sports Authority Field at Mile High (which is in the process of being renamed). With the success the franchise has achieved during the Pat Bowlen-era (since 1984), this impressive streak likely won’t be coming to an end any time in the near future.

The environment and the sheer number of fans at Denver’s home games have given the Broncos a noticeable advantage over their opponents. On Monday night against the Los Angeles Chargers, the stadium had a playoff atmosphere, despite having an abnormally late kickoff time (10:20 p.m. ET, 8:20 p.m. locally).

It's been the longest streak for at least 30 years I think. . . . Probably more like 40.

Patrick Smyth's tweet indicates 47.

Sell outs through this year would be 48.

Yes, but that's how long our streak is. Not how long we've owned the longest streak.

To be fair, it's not JUST the consistent string of wide deep fan loyalty: The altitude makes such a difference it's even forced opposing starters to skip the trip (let alone the GAME) just to avoid risking their lives. I'm convinced living and practicing in that gives the Broncos a competitive advantage in stamina both at home AND on the road.

I didn't understand what he was trying to say. He was trying to indicate how long the Broncos have had the longest streak, not how long said streak is.

I thought the Redskins had a slightly longer streak than we did...

I know, but I am a bit of an opportunist

I remember hearing that back in the 80s, but I guess the streak must have been broken since. Considering how unpopular Danial Snyder is as an owner, as well as the controversy over the team mascot, this doesn't surprise me.

Okay. I didn't remember that. My memory is that we had the longest streak going sometime back in the 90's, but wasn't sure when we took over the title.

Hmmm. Looks like there's some question about the veracity of the Redskin's claimed sell-out streak:

Skins streak was all smoke and mirrors. Very dubious.

Men, I want you guys to realize how consistent we are. Think about the 80's when the Pats were playing in front of crickets.

Hmmmm... I seem to recall the Green Bay Slackers having a longer sellout streak than the Broncos. I believe their streak (unless it was broken in the past 5ish years) started in 1959.

/edit
Looks like the Slackers streak fell during the 2016 playoff run. Making the Broncos the longest streak, which has been held <1 year.

Packers were a mess in the eighties. No chance.
