Won't be televised here. I'll catch up in this thread and I'll catch the replay once they broadcast it on NFLN. I want to see more from Sloter. Hopefully he's able to make the staff at least comfortable with him as an emergency option behind Trevor while Paxton heals up, hopefully he's more than just an impressive camp arm. We shall see.

Only downside is that the stream is often 5-15 seconds behind live, so if you are in gameday thread or following reporters on Twitter, you might see it online before on the stream.

It actually behooves us to lose this game, per this random stat I saw last week:

Or you could just do what I have been doing for the last 10 years and watch the broncos on an illegal livestream broadcast that is constantly 1 minute behind and alternates between GLORIOUS 560p and 480p

You can. The game was several minutes, possibly five minutes in, last week before it showed the live stream option. I started out on my computer until the live stream option was available in the NFL roku app.

Not sure if you need to give them a credit card and cancel before the trial ends to not be charged. I didn't check that far.

If by "groom" you mean keep him on the 53, they don't want to do that but I don't see any choice unless they sign a veteran QB after Saturday cuts. All the reports are they will look hard for a veteran QB but I think that's just nuts!

I've been saying it. Just gets more defined each time Sloter is in.

I'd just get rid of Paxton right now, but there's Zero chance of that. So:

1. They have to put Paxton on IR if they want to keep Sloter on the 53 without losing another position player.

2. "Sloter looks comfortable in the pocket. He looks decisive out there. If they don't want to put Paxton on the PUP, which they told me tonight that is highly unlikely, although I keep hearing that Paxton's injury might cause him to miss 4 or more games.. ." - Dave Logan on Broncos KOA Radio.

It's his throwing shoulder. They're being stupid. He's not going to be fully healed before game #6 anyway. They should just bite the bullet and take Sloter as the backup.

But, they are not cutting Paxton this season. He's getting another chance next off-season.

I know he's not ready to start, but letting Sloter walk would be a mistake, IMO. Not only does he have great velocity, his release is a thing of beauty. He has no wind up. It goes straight up to his ear and is out with a perfect overhand delivery. Siemian has to set his feet and use his whole body for those types of throws and Lynch has a big wind-up. Sloter has a Michael Vick-like release. Once he commits, it's up and out of his hand in the blink of an eye.

Seriously, I haven't seen a release like that in a Bronco unit since JFE. It sure is pretty.

Put aside the fact that I really like Sloter. I just don't understand why they wouldn't keep him, even in the short term, even if that wasn't their original plan, with Lynch being hurt. Lynch will stay on the active roster as he recovers, so they'll need three QB anyway. Who would you rather have - the guy who's been on your team for the whole preseason and knows your offense? Or random scrap heap QB - not a veteran, mind you - who doesn't know your system at all? Who would you trust to come in if Siemian went down?

I agree with those who believe they won't cut Lynch. I think he reminds Elway of himself when he was starting. Not sure who here was watching in '83, but Elway was similar; big gun but wanted to pull it down and run too often. Elway's pride is part of it, too, and he doesn't want to give up on his pet project just yet. Maybe they see more than we have, and if Lynch ever got his head together (doubtful) there's lots of upside. Unfortunately it appears the speed of the game is too much for him.

In the mean time, I'm rooting for Sloter. I like dark horses, and Sloter's got a great story. I think the adversity he's faced may give him the ability to shake off a bad play or a bad game. I also think TS and Sloter play similarly enough that if he goes in for TS the playbook can remain the same.

The fact Stephenson is playing in this game when virtually none of the players certain to make the team are playing, plus he's a veteran. . . .

Then he barfed on his own shoes.

He could have just climbed the ladder...

Seriously though, the second sack he held the ball way too long, and the second one he drifted back beyond the protection. Don't get me wrong, Stephenson sucks, but it's pretty well established all sacks are on the QB.

Broncos Country will be ready to lynch Elway and VJ if Sloter gets released after this game. He's made some real good throws.

One rumor is Clipboard Jesus, forgot his name, but he played for McCoy in SD. So he does know the system.

He looks like 1970's Barry Gibb.

I think there is only slightly above zero chance they cut Lynch.

To be eligible for PUP (or NFI, which is the same as PUP), you cannot have participated in a single practice in training camp/preseason. So, Booker who was hurt before TC is eligible for PUP and guys like Kelly/Butt are eligible for NFI (non football injury) list. Henderson and Lynch and others hurt in training camp are not eligible.

It sure is pretty.

i was gonna say. . .

this sucks, though. . . and it double sucks if roster maneuvering to cover for that scrub lynch is involved in the TJ bullshit. . . some dudes in the front office need to remember that it's always a team game, and do what's right for our team, not cover for their damn egos. . . stop being stubborn-- put lynch on the damn IR, you don't even have to admit publicly that he's not ready to play. . . say the shoulder recovery is gonna take longer than anticipated, and you don't want to take any chances rushing him back. . .

it's not like he can't use the extra time in the film room and his playbook. . . personally, i think they need to IR both PL and carlos henderson, as IMO they both have guys ahead of them that are more ready for prime time. . . you can bring two guys back this year, it's not like you're shutting them down. . . really though, does anyone honestly think lynch is even as ready to play as sloter, let alone more so? i know, i know-- sloter didn't play against the ones. . . lynch couldn't get past the first read against ones or twos, and showed no ability to move the ball in any situation. . . somebody want to give me a compelling argument why it's imperative to have him available to be the backup? we're really going to win games with him, that we wouldn't win with other backups? i doubt it. . . whatever his potential is, IMO we've wasted enough time and resources on the guy for this year. . . he ate up precious first team reps that could have gone to our starter, who isn't exactly a seasoned vet himself. . . okay, fine-- you give your talented first rounder every opportunity, i get it. . . he didn't make the most of it, so don't now compound it by wasting a roster spot that could be given to a more valuable contributor just so the kid can practice. . . IR him, and roll with sloter as your backup to start the year-- you're no worse off with a raw but talented kid who knows the playbook than with some journeyman loser who doesn't. . . if the defense is playing well enough to carry freakin' charlie whitehurst or cleo lemon or whoever, they can probably drag sloter's ass along too. . . if trevor gets hurt or flames out, you can always bring lynch back midway, and get him reps with an eye towards next year. . .

or, be proud about it. . . if they do expose kyle to waivers, i wouldn't feel real sure that a team like the jags or jets can't find a spot on their roster for a kid with his obvious ability, and seeming intangibles. . .

Its hard to watch this and know Sloter probably won't ever fire a regular season throw for Denver...

Yeah. That's the throw. If Siemian has that ability, he sure as hell hasn't shown it.
