The Broncos haven’t lost hope.

Over the last couple of years, the team and the city of Denver have expressed serious interest in hosting a future NFL draft. Although a formal proposal has not been submitted to the league since 2015, the team is continuing to push to eventually bring the event to the Mile High City.

“While we don’t have a formal bid submitted at this time, we remain extremely interested in helping to bring a future NFL draft to Denver,” Patrick Smyth, the Broncos vice president of public relations, told The Denver Post. “With the dates of the upcoming drafts, there are still some logistical challenges we need to work through with Visit Denver and the city.”

Matthew Payne, the executive director of the Denver Sports Commission, told The Post that the Commission would continue to work with the Broncos in pushing for a future draft.

During the 2015 season, the Broncos and Visit Denver, the marketing agency for the city, collaborated to submit a formal and detailed plan to the NFL to host a future draft. The sides had follow-up conversations about working through some of those logistical challenges with dates and venues.
