Canada and USA play their regular New Years Eve game, I love this tournament!

Side note, Buffalo hosts it in 2018 and the Canada - USA game will be outside at New Era Stadium.

Why are they going to let us host it? Nobody will care down here, whereas it's a national event up there.

It's not a Canadian event, its the IIHF. Canada hosts it every second year, the other years are shared between the other teams, its a big deal in Russia, Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic. It usually does really well in the US as well, but being in Buffalo it's going to be 75% Canadians there. North Dakota did a good job hosting it. If you like hockey, the World Juniors are awesome. You have the best young players in the world, which most are or will be drafted, playing their Olympics. The best part of it is its junior hockey so there are still mistakes and leads to more exciting hockey, kind of like college football.

Yeah, that was crazy. I think the shots were 31-3 going into the third. I ended up watching the Jackets instead. 13 in a row! I got kinda pissed when Canada beat Russia. I feel like I'm watching the World Cup again. ******* Canadians. Some good, young players though. Dubois was drafted by Columbus. Jost and Meyers look pretty good.

Jackets have 13 in a row and Wild have 11, that division is 100X better than any other division in the league right now. Nashville's record isn't great but it's because of the division, by the end of the season they will be alright

Yes the USA team is very good and play together most of the year in the National program. The USA's program is really good, I wish the Canadians could do that but it just wouldn't work with our Junior leagues, college is a very different situation. If you are able to watch the game, watch Greenway and White for the American team, both are very good and Greenway is going to be a beast.

I watched both games yesterday and they were awesome, two of the best games I've seen in any of these tournaments. The only thing I could say that wasn't great was the officiating, the ref's were pretty bad. I really hope they don't decide the outcome of tonight's game.

That was a great game. I knew the Canadians were going to blow the lead because the defense kept pinching. What the hell kind of coaching is that, you have a two goal lead in the 3rd and your telling your d-men to pinch and try to get offense going.. he lost that game for them. Once it went into shootout I knew the USA had it, the Canadians didn't have skilled players, they were all mid level guys. The highest drafted player on that team is a 3rd rounder.

Both of my step sons played organized hockey from 5yrs of age. Both stared in Minnesota HS and both played Junior Hockey in both the States and Canada.
That's A LOT of games!
Plus, we have the University of North Dakota hockey right here in town and also hosted the World Juniors a few years back.
