With Siemian battling a foot injury, do you think we will see Austin Davis starting against the Jags on Sunday?

Like Favre, he played for Southern Miss. Like Elway, he passed up on the MLB for football.

No, this is great because you can let Lynch start with a near-guaranteed win while he gets acclimated to facing real NFL teams in the future.

Highly doubtful.

Exactly, and they know if he's broken behind the tackles, then he's expendable. On top of that, he's capable of calling the plays in the huddle and can play under center. I really think this is what we are going to see, because the team clearly has no confidence in Lynch and are wishing that JJ had been able to jump in front of the Broncos in April and draft Lynch and the Broncos would have then gone to plan B, Prescott.

Trevor will start, if he doesn't, we've seen just how bad Paxton can be, wouldn't surprise me if we see Davis instead.

If they start Lynch this week and we lose...That better be the end of the Lynch is the future talk...If he can't beat the lowly Jags, he's probably not going to be an NFL starter again for a long, long time if at all.

Hilarious.

It's one thing to lose against the Falcons who are a playoff team, it's another entirely to drop one to the jaguars...

Why? Why would it be ok for Siemian to struggle but not for Lynch? He is a project, nothing he does this year should be counted against him. I say this as a guy who has always liked Siemian potential.

I was mostly just setting up Lynch12 for a meltdown, but I really do think it'll be a good indicator of how not ready for primetime he is. The difference between Trevor and Paxton is one is an o-line away from success, the other struggles with calling the plays given to him from the sidelines and had to be corrected by his teammates.

Paxton will be a starter eventually (though Trevor could have a say over if it's with us or not) but he's really not ready, and if he starts and loses to the Jaguars, that's going to be a pretty good confirmation of that (assuming that he plays like he did against Atlanta)

I don't know. Multiple people earlier in the year stated that Davis > Siemian, and based on performance to date, we know Siemian > Lynch, so by extension, Davis > Lynch. So, do you really think Kubiak will start the lesser QB on Sunday?

Nope, which is exactly why Lynch isn't starting yet. Because Kubes isn't dumb enough to start an inferior QB when there is a better option available.

Agreed. I saw a report that the Broncos were working out TJ Yates. They feel he's familiar enough with Kube's offense that if neither Siemian or Davis can go, Yates can step in nearly from day one.

Is that part actually true? If so man that isn't a good sign for Lynch12 (or Austin Davis for that matter)...That really doesn't bode well that they have so little faith in him that they might be bringing in another QB.

I preferred him to Davis for precisely that reason (it's not like Davis has more starts—I think he actually has LESS.)

I can't imagine carrying 4 QBs though, nor sending Siemian to IR unless his foot's WAY worse than Kubiak has said. So I can't imagine signing Yates unless we also release Davis (in which case why didn't we just sign Yates in the first place?)
