Haha, no it's not that bad. Ian Rappaport is not the same as cnn.com.de. But I'll give it to ya.

In any event, this is a mess. Why did Rappaport (and NFL mobile!) just claim he was done for the year if there is no ACL tear and CJ is denying it?

Broncos' C.J. Anderson undergoes more tests on right knee in California

CENTENNIAL, Colo. -- Broncos running back C.J. Anderson continues to undergo tests on his right knee in California on Thursday, trying to determine the extent of his injury. Anderson told Denver7 he is hopeful of a diagnosis Thursday afternoon. He sought a second opinion because of the uncertainty surrounding his injury.

Anderson woke up sore Tuesday, leading to an exam. A visit with a doctor in California followed. Anderson said he feels good and is not in pain. But he explained they have yet to pinpoint the nature of his injury as of Thursday morning.

Nah jano has to stay at fullback, this dude is blocking his ass off, opening up massive holes on hard crunching blocks that linebackers and safeties will grow tired of taking as the game goes on. Can't afford to lose our fullback by using him as a full-time runner.

Chances are CJ doesn't play that whole contract out, there's a reason to me that elway immediately drafts Booker. CJ probably did more damage by continuing to play on the knee the last 3 quarters, but he obviously smelled Booker coming for that spot so he rolled the rice and crapped out apparently.

Brutal and truly devastating news.

CJ gets better as the season goes along and looked to be rounding into that form again based off his performance versus the Texans. Where he is often criminally underrated is just how incredibly effective out of the backfield and in pass protection he is. A great blocker who is able to identify and pick up rushers very well.

This just blows.

Some details from Klis:

The procedure could eventually lead to the Denver Broncos’ running back missing the rest of the season, although there is hope he could return for the postseason should the team qualify for an AFC playoff spot. The full extent of the tear won’t be known until the surgeon works inside the knee.

The Broncos are expected to place Anderson on injured reserve as Anderson’s recovery is expected to be eight to 12 weeks. Any player, but not more than one player, can be activated by a team after eight weeks.

The running back iced his knee after the game but when there was greater discomfort on Tuesday morning, he went to the Broncos’ facility for treatment and consultation with trainer Steve “Greek” Antonopulos and team doctors.

They had Anderson undergo an MRI exam which revealed to the Broncos’ medical team the type of meniscus tear that required surgery to repair. Anderson sought a second opinion in hopes the knee could recover with rest and rehab and he could return to play in a month or so.

He underwent a second MRI in the Bay Area on Wednesday when doctors there confirmed the Broncos’ initial diagnosis.

Before his surgery that was scheduled for Thursday afternoon, doctors had Anderson come in for one more test as it was unusual he was experiencing no pain or soreness in the knee area and is not walking with a trace of a limp.

C.J. Anderson has a significant meniscus tear in his right knee and will undergo surgery Thursday in Fremont, Calif., sources told 9NEWS.

Anderson’s surgery will be performed by the practice of Dr. Arthur Ting, a renowned sports knee surgeon whose surgery center is in Fremont, Calif.

1. PREPARING A CONTINGENCY PLAN AT RUNNING BACK

With Anderson receiving a second opinion Wednesday after injuring his knee against the Texans on Monday night, Devontae Booker is set to move up to the starting lineup if needed, with Kapri Bibbs poised to assume Booker's role in the rotation after being limited to four carries for 24 yards so far this season.

"It just picks up Kapri's work, basically. Obviously Book would start, and it's kind of up to Book -- how much can he handle," Head Coach Kubiak said. "But I think he's been growing. He played really well the other night."

Booker has made palpable progress since fumbling on his first regular-season carry against Carolina in Week 1, running with more confidence and hitting the holes faster, particularly in the last two games, when he averaged 5.86 yards per carry, rushing for 129 yards on 22 attempts.

"The more touches I started getting, the more comfortable I started feeling," Booker said.

Added QB Trevor Siemian: "Book's a stud, and he's been running really well for us the last couple of weeks. Hopefully we get C.J. back again, because you'd like to have two that are playing really well."

But it's his growth as a pass blocker that has been most impressive, and allowed him to earn the coaches' trust to stay in the game on obvious passing downs.

"When I first got here, there was still a learning obstacle for me," Booker said. "The more and more that I watch film and start studying, the more and more I know about pass protections."

Yes and no. One big factor is pass protection. Not all backs do equal jobs in picking up blitzes and other pass rushes. Also, CJ has been helping Siemian in recognizing the blitzes and diagnosing the defenses for when they need to change protection or even change the play.

There will almost certainly be a drop off in production in those terms, even if the pure running doesn't suffer much.

Klis still saying he's likely to go on IR. I usually believe Schefter, but I assume Klis is closer to the team "sources." Guess we will have to see. If he's not put on IR this week, that will be telling:

“I don’t know if I’m playing this season or if I’m out this season but if you know anything about me I’m going to grind until I get back to the top of my game and be better than what I was before,’’ Anderson said by phone from the hospital where he was kept overnight. He is expected to be released soon. “I feel really, really good. I have no pain.’

Anderson was told by Dr. Ting he had the knee of an 8-year-old so while the Broncos are expected to place him on their injured reserve list as soon as this afternoon, the running back is not ruling out a possible return as soon as the final two regular-season games against the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day final against Oakland.

I'm anxious to see what Booker can bring.

With the #Broncos placing RB CJ Anderson on Injured Reserve, the earliest we see him is 8 weeks. I’m told his rehab is measured in months.

Was an amazing fun year all I can do is rest up get back for the playoffs and if not get back and grind 4 next season

Also, Klis says Juwan Thompson to be promoted, which is not a surprise.

I like CJ but yeah, he just struggles too much to stay on the field. He's awesome when he's healthy, but you just can't always count on it. I don't hate giving him the contract this offseason, but I probably would think twice about bringing him back next year, especially if Booker shines.

What Nalen said it that it is longer for everyday people. You are not suppose to start jogging for 6 weeks. But football players are not normal in their what kind of shape they are in to start with. So Greek will have him on a program that will keep him in shape and get him ready in 8 weeks if he is needed. How soon he comes back will depend on how Booker and the other RB do.

I heard that the biggest problem is that CJ can read the D as good as anyone on the field and was helping Siemian with reads and blocking.

If Trevor is being helped by a running back to call out protections and etc then that's sad and doesn't bolt well for Trevor going forward.

Dapper......I went and saw my first live hockey game ever with the Aces the Thursday night the BRONCOS lost to the Chargers. I've never been into hockey, but my little girl's choir was singing the National Anthem and Lee Greenwood's 'God Bless the USA' song at the game. It's amazing how fast those guys are on the ice. I suck at ice skating.

So now are you superstitious?

I had been wanting to ask. I have an Aces jersey. I've not tried skating but I'd like to. Is the sport big up there? Or is it about like anything else?

Folks pack the Sullivan Arena for the Aces games. I actually liked watching the game.....no fights this time. SR was right, hockey is fun to watch.

I googled and saw a couple from South Carolina. There's a team in Knoxville but they're lower than the ECHL. The Cincinnati Cyclones are a little over 3 hours away. They're ECHL. But I just watch the Nashville Predators since they're less than 3 hours away. Knoxville is about 2 hours.

How she ended up in Oak Ridge is beyond me. Spent her childhood in Redondo Beach, CA, living on the beach.

I actually like the folks I've met in Oak Ridge, but that place is ghettoboondocks.

the packers just released knile davis. . . wonder what's up with that? he's always looked like a capable runner in the past-- was he injured at some point? the chiefs are deep at RB, but the packers certainly aren't. . . if they don't think he can help them, he may be washed up. . . he's still young, though, and he has return ability. . . if he's right, we could really use the kind of speed he has. . .
