The Broncos under owner Pat Bowlen have been one of the most consistently successful franchises in sports. With a win against the Buccaneers in Tampa on Sunday, they could pass a significant milestone.

Not only would they start their season 4-0 for the second-consecutive year, but they would also top the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers (1,588-988; .616 win percentage) for the second-highest win percentage among American pro sports franchises since 1984, when Bowlen purchased the team. The Broncos enter Sunday with a 316-197-1 (.616) regular-season record.

The San Antonio Spurs lead all American pro sports franchises with a .633 win percentage (1,631-945).

Your friendly reminder that the HOF voters felt Jerry Jones was better than Pat Bowlen.

Undefeated for almost 2 seasons? That's doable. I'm sending the memo to John as we speak.
