CJ Spiller was dumped for a reason: He sucks. The guy has nothing left and is not even worth the vet minimum. His salary for this year was already fully guaranteed, the Saints had NOTHING to gain by cutting him. In fact, since they cut him they owed his salary immediately instead of weekly game checks. That's why they waited to cut him, they needed that cap relief Drew's new contract created. They had to pay him sooner and take a dead money hit on their cap in order to be rid of him, that says something.
