Pro Football Reference says Siemian had a single kneeldown last year (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/S/SiemTr00.htm), but I'm not counting that, for reasons presumably obvious. His career started last night, and he looked good. For a sophomore 7th rounder in his first pro GAME, with unreliable protection against a great front seven, he looked VERY good. If we can ever consistently protect him and open holes for his run support (going by highlights alone, it looked like the line did a good job of that) Kubes may have a steal.

I'm not saying Lynch is nor should be tradebait; he remains the QBotF. And if defenses don't start blowing Siemian up once they have enough tape to diagnose his weaknesses (and the gimmicks Kubiak uses to conceal them) he may prove unaffordable: We're paying him the rookie minimum again this year, and he's only contracted for $15K and $30K more than that the next two years ($15-30K probably isn't an "only" number for any of us, but is peanuts for starting NFL QBs.)

I definitely see why he was promoted over Sanchez. "High floor, low ceiling," someone said; not a bad caretaker while the reigning Champs ride an elite D and develop our franchise QB, nor a bad fallback caretaker if (heaven forbid) Lynch busts.
