The QB position is still a giant question mark. Personally, with this defense, I'd just roll with the rookie. He played better than Seimian. Siemian had 1TD but 1 pick. It should have been 2 picks but for a simple drop.

Of the "guys on the cusp", Dekoda Watson lit it up. That dude flat out has come out of nowhere to be a legit 1st stringer. Ronnie Hillman also shined in the back half and should secure his position on the team.

Color me intrigued. Not an ILB though, right? I presume the most obvious candidate would be Barrett. Ware just LEFT Dallas because they didn't want to pay him as age and injury caught up with him (as it's doing,) we're not trading the reigning SB MVP for a backup linemen (especially right after signing him to an eye-popping eleventh hour contract) and trading last years 1st round pick is only relatively more likely (i.e. never in 999,999 years.)

I keep waiting to feel more confident in Siemian, but I guess I'm out of time for that. He seems perfectly competent, but nothing screams "starting QB" to me. For a guy who is supposedly safer than Sanchez, he still looks like he has turnover issues. The INT on the pass to Latimer was under thrown (and hit the ground, but whatever) and he had a pick six dropped a bit later. At least he took some shots down the field this game. Since it seems to be a sure thing that he starts against Carolina, hopefully he's good enough.

Fully agree. I can't believe some of the homerism I read in this thread defending that hit. And especially for Talib of all people, who is well past the point of getting any benefit of the doubt for borderline dirty plays. The QB was 100% obviously giving himself up.

I didnt fet to see the game. How did people look. I saw a ton of 3 and outs on drive charts. Rams owned the time of possession. Defense a little porious against the run tonight? 1/3 of siemens yards came on 1 play. But how did he look. Looked like a bad night for lynch. Also appeared to be a more kubiak offense night, looked like a lot more rushes.
I thought Simien looked okay. His one pick was not his fault, though he threw one right in the hands of an LB who dropped it, so that sort of evened out. He made some plays and passes were on target for the most part. DT dropped a pass and didn't fight for a 1st on another play so drives stopped because of that, though he also made a long catch one handed because the CB was holding his arm down and got called for PI. This team needs a 3rd WR to step up, without Fowler they have struggled to find anybody outside of DT and Sanders to make plays consistently. They ran a lot early, and it didn't work for shit. The running improved as the passing game started having a little success.

One of Simien's pick was not his fault our receiver batted it to the defender on what should have been a catch or incomplete bomb. Paxton looked like a rookie, struggled with accuracy and didn't get the ball to the receivers where they had a real chance to catch it.

However, If he was still in the running for the starter wouldn't they want to play him with the starters in the preseason game where the starters generally play the most?
