19. Denver Broncos (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/den/denver-broncos)

QB Mark Sanchez (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/12482/mark-sanchez), WR Demaryius Thomas (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/13216/demaryius-thomas), WR Emmanuel Sanders (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/13295/emmanuel-sanders)

Remember when we looked at the Jets and how good their receivers (and triplet combination) would be if they just had a competent quarterback? The Broncos are an improved version of that mess, with Sanchez as a very good backup who is likely stretched as the starter on a contending team. He has lived a charmed professional life -- Sanchez now goes back to a team with a dominant defense like the one he had during his early days with the Jets -- but the former USC star has an obvious ceiling after more than 2,000 career NFL passes. That prevents the Broncos from rising much higher in these rankings.

Seems about right for preseason rankings since Sanchez is a known commodity but he could thrive in our system.

The Broncos were ranked 19th last year in points, so this is reasonable. I'm thinking Sanchez will AT MINIMUM equal the QB production of last year, and I'm hopeful he'll be better.

Given the uncertainty at QB, this sounds about right for us. He's doing the defensive side tomorrow so that should be fun for us

We're worst in the division, I'm not surprised. Sanchez doesn't get a lot of love because of his performance with 2 different bad HCs. I'm looking forward to seeing if he can exceed expectations with a much better HC.

The west coast offense does not require an all-pro quarterback if the running game is effective. The QB must be mobile and able to throw on the run. Most passes are ten yards and under except for the the bootleg which tends to create a greater cushion for the QB to throw into. IMO the offense is ideal for Sanchez. I think he will do fine. In only a couple of months, the dye will be set.

Depends on who the QB is Dean, imo, the Broncos WCO for Cutler/Frerotte was different than that of Griese. Griese was a Dinkin-and-Dunkingest Dink-and-Dunker of All-Time, even the Kubiak WCO for The Corpse of Manning (Weekend At Peyton's) drew plays up on a bigger sheet of paper.

Your 100% correct. Not only does the WCO have to be adjust to fit the QB, but every HC that has imitated it has tweaked it to their liking as well.

Barnwell did the defensive "triplets" piece today. We finished #2 behind Seattle's Sherman/Thomas/Bennett combo:

2. Denver Broncos

LB Von Miller, LB DeMarcus Ware, CB Chris Harris Jr.

Pick Aqib Talib over Ware if you would like, but after watching what Miller and Ware did to the Patriots and Panthers in the playoffs, I'm not capable of swapping either of them out of this triplet combination. I'd also sneak in Harris, who is criminally underpaid even after signing an extension -- he'll make $27.3 million over the first three years of his deal while somebody like Janoris Jenkins, who doesn't approach Harris's ability, will make $39.7 million. Denver was the league's best defense by DVOA a year ago, and while the Broncos will miss the likes of Malik Jackson and Danny Trevathan, their big three (or four) is so good that it's hard to imagine them slipping far statistically. Now, if Miller holds out ...

So the Cleveland Browns have the worst triplets on both O & D. I hope their fans are also basketball fans. Otherwise, it could be a long cold winter for them.
