Three months later, they remain restless. The Broncos enjoyed the spoils of their championship but face the prediction that a repeat will be spoiled by a market correction.
After the Broncos won Super Bowl 50, they lingered on Levi’s Field bathing in the confetti. They celebrated in the locker room with hugs and selfies with the Lombardi Trophy. It made for a tidy portrait. But what if it wasn’t a snapshot and, instead, a slide show, asked steady linebacker Brandon Marshall?
The Broncos’ defense remains ticked, irked that this team is seen as the “La Macarena,” a sensational one-hit wonder.
“DWare, Von (Miller), T.J. (Ward), Aqib (Talib), Chris (Harris), those guys aren’t going to let it happen. I won’t let it happen. We are all hungry,” Marshall said. “We set a standard. We know there are questions because of the quarterback uncertainty. But who wants to regress? We all want to be the greatest of this era. To do that, we have to keep grinding, pushing. We want to have that two-three season run where people say, ‘this Broncos defense was legendary.’ ”
