He wants to be here, took a discount to be here and he's all kind of nasty.

"We have a standard here. Either they get on board or they get the hell out!"

Love it!! :D

I think in an interview not to long ago said that he thinks of the Broncos as his family.

When he was in 5th grade, a buddy asked him to have dinner at his house. Hungry as he was for a good meal, starving as he was for some company, his pride pushed him aside and answered first. "No thanks. Gotta get home."

"I always said no,” admits Derek Wolfe, the Denver Bronco's second year D Lineman. “I didn't want anyone feeling sorry for me and I didn't think anyone would actually want to be with me for any other reason. I figured it was just pity."

True pity was the fact that he was raised to believe he was worthless. Raised by a man who raised his fists, raised his voice and destroyed the core of a young boy who was not his own, reminding him every day that he wasn't. "I wasn't his kid. He kept me around to abuse me. To break me down."

I said the same. I have a Von jersey, Manning gets retired this year. I want a Ware and a Wolfe.

Von will probably be my next jersey but I want to wait until he gets the contract signed. After Doom you can never be too sure.

Is it wrong to want a custom jersey with the number 945 and name WareWolfe?

Yep, that's my thinking now. Hopefully Von signs, and at minimum, the bulk of his career will have been in Denver.

Holy shit, I thought this was a variation of the article I read yesterday about him not regretting signing the contract and testing free agency. That was some heavy crap. You hear a lot of stories with NFL players, but that's right up there.

Heck of a journey he's been through. Guess you can see why staying with his new family (Broncos) was more important than a few million more a year, as he said shortly after he signed it.

I kinda wish the media talked more about stuff like Wolfe's and DT's childhoods. So many kids and teens need to know that they can be someone someday. I'm tired of meeting 14 year olds who carry pistols for protection. It's sad.

Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe celebrated a personal milestone only a few months after the biggest achievement of his football career — winning a Super Bowl.

Wolfe announced on Instagram last week that he is engaged. His fiancee received a flashy diamond ring, the type you would expect for a player who signed a four-year, $36.7 million contract earlier this year.

The fifth-year pro seems poised for a big season. He was at his most dominant in the playoffs with 2.5 sacks, 15 tackles and one pass defended in three games. That was after he inked the big deal in January. The Broncos need him to step up after losing fellow defensive end Malik Jackson.

Wolfe turned 26 years old earlier this year, so he's right in the middle of his prime. His future wife is fitness model Abbie Burrows.

The Super Bowl jersey I bought was Wolfe...he's just a good guy and after he signed the contract to stay in Denver I knew that was the one I wanted.... Tough story to read...he's overcome a lot....I only want the best for him. Just really glad he stayed here and love his attitude.

945?

Ware is jersey #94
Wolfe is jersey #95

So he's combining their common 1st number with their 2nd numbers to come up with this 3 digit jersey number.

You don't know Derek Wolfe, and he doesn't care.

You catch glimpses of his life through Instagram, but what's beneath the surface can stay there for all he cares. If people only think of him as a vicious defensive end, that's fine with him.

For the longest time, Wolfe's personal life was something he wanted to keep hidden. Abuse, life in an unstable home before eventual homelessness, depression — these are things he naturally doesn't want to dwell upon.

It wasn't until this year, after finding stability with two long-term commitments — one with the Broncos after signing a contract extension in January and one with his wife-to-be in May — that he could turn toward the future.

With that peace of mind and support, Wolfe is now able to turn his focus completely to football, determined to show that his 2015 season is still just the beginning of a maturing career.

Security and loyalty are two inherently important values to Wolfe. That combination led him to sign a four-year contract extension just before the beginning of the playoffs rather than during the free-agency period, when more teams would have been able to make offers.

But Wolfe didn't want any more uncertainty. He's had far too much of that in his career and his life already.
