The Broncos are back on the field today. Figured we might as well have one thread as we go through this week of OTA's at least. To that end:

At today's #Broncos practice Mark Sanchez will be in uniform and take some limited reps at quarterback.

Mark Sanchez throwing some nice passes. Unaffected by the injury to his non-throwing thumb.

Cameron Wolfe ‏@CameronWolfe 17m17 minutes ago

Devontae Booker has been doing about everything else the other RBs are doing. He looks like he's closing in 100% recovery from knee injury.

Cameron Wolfe ‏@CameronWolfe 15m15 minutes ago

Brandon Marshal and Virgil Green are here at OTAs but just stretching, doing light drills.

Cameron Wolfe ‏@CameronWolfe 10m10 minutes ago

Bralon Addison will be gone from OTAs until early June. He's finishing classes at Oregon, which is on the quarter system.

Cameron Wolfe ‏@CameronWolfe 7m7 minutes ago

Jordan Norwood and Kalif Raymond are the two guys at punt returner today. Addison will join them in a few weeks

Cameron Wolfe ‏@CameronWolfe 3m3 minutes ago

Mark Sanchez picked off by Corey Nelson in 7 on 7s. Huge cheers from D.

Cameron Wolfe ‏@CameronWolfe 2m2 minutes ago

Trevor Siemian with 2 straight nice completions to Cody Latimer. First one was a high point grab from Latimer over 2 defenders. #ItsOnlyOTAs

Andrew Mason ‏@MaseDenver 3m3 minutes ago

Paxton Lynch's passes are cutting easily through a stiff breeze. Lots of zip going 25 yards downfield to Krieger Coble and Raymond.

If working out heavily makes him hurt his back though, I'm not sure what an NFL game will do. Luckily, as TX said, we are plenty deep at pass rusher, but Ware could be nearing the end of the road.

Ware IS nearing the end of the road. This isn't anything new. He missed a lot of time last year for the back and took a paycut this year already. I can't get upset, anxious, etc over something we already knew.

Well given our precarious cap situation with trying to pay Von, Ware might not be worth keeping around if he can't stay on the field.

If we manage it correctly, like we did last year, I'm sure we can get good use out of him. Reality is he's a third down pass rush specialist now. No need to worry about it in May. If he gets injured, different story.

I think Kapri will probably make the team over Ronnie. Ronnie is basically on a "prove it" deal that he had no choice but to sign since no other team jumped on the Hillman train. I won't be a bit surprised if Hillman doesn't make the team. Doesn't mean he won't, I just won't be surprised if he doesn't.

That's my point though. If CJ can't stay healthy, he really isn't any more valuable to the team than Ronnie. I'm not debating the fact that CJ has more talent, but if he can't stay on the field what does it matter?

Maybe he fails to understand "hands of stone " is a title better used on fighters?

If Ronnie is so awful, why re-sign him at all? We need every penny of cap space we can get to sign Von. Why not just go with Booker and CJ and save that money paid to Ronnie to go towards Von's contract?

He contributed, but he's been a big disappointment to me. He could be a premier 3rd down back if he developed the necessary football iq. If only we could stick Moreno's heart and head in Ronnie.

Because we need more than 3 backs for the preseason, you know that. What would we have saved if we went another route, 500k? Ronnie's contract is almost nothing.

Anyway, CJ can be a stud when healthy. Let's give him a little more time. 2014 he was very, very good , 2015 hes dinged up. Booker was drafted for a reason. A true threat as a time share. Hillman will probably be ridding the bench more unless that bulldozer changes to fullback.

Cj is bettwr handa down. But he was injured at one point and was pretty bad to start season. Hillman started more games but that put chip on Cjs shoulder. Cj really stepped up in playoffs and snap count and carries showed that. But hillmans production on field was same as cj he just had more snaps so more stats, moatly die to Cjs injury and missing time.

I wouldn't mind if both CJ and Hillman were gone, not that I have anything against them, it's their cap numbers. They're not, and never were, RB's you bother to extend, Imo. Keep either/or, definitely not both, this Elway guy is a real piece of work.
