When the Broncos suffered a run of injuries to their safeties last season, Shiloh Keo reached out to his former defensive coordinator Wade Phillips on Twitter to let him know that he would love to join the team.
The gambit worked out as Keo eventually signed with the Broncos and earned a Super Bowl ring with them a few months later. Keo won’t have to work social media to get a job in 2016 as the Broncos announced Monday that he has re-signed with the team.
Keo was arrested for DUI shortly after the Super Bowl and could face league discipline as a result. If he does make the team and earn a suspension, the Broncos have another veteran on hand to provide depth.
The team announced that they have signed free agent safety Brandian Ross. Ross played one game for the Chargers last year — against the Broncos as it happens — and spent most of the previous three seasons with the Raiders. He started 24 times for Oakland and also played one game for the Dolphins in 2014.
