Broncos TV's Matt Boyer explains why 2016 is shaping up to be a banner year for tight end Jeff Heuerman after injury kept him out last season.

This guy could have a huge break out year. He may have missed the season but he got to study film, learn playbook and terminology.

I'm sure hopeful as He was drafted to have an impact on every aspect of our offense. IIRC Heuerman was scouted as a pretty well rounded TE. Not a one trick pony/WR in a bigger body

Aaaaaaand he seems to be injury prone. If I remember correctly he was hurt his senior year as well. I hope he doesn't Virgil Green and comes back from all that stuff to have a big impact

Problem is he's never started an NFL regular season game. So, he's basically a rookie. They like his skills, but we'll have to see. They really need a veteran TE to supplement the roster. A draft pick would be nice, but they can't rely on another rookie, so they will have to find a veteran somewhere.

Banner year? We haven't even seen him play a single snap. Let's see him block and catch in a game before we crown his ass.

Anything at all would be a "breakout" season considering he didn't play a snap last year.

I can only find where Heuerman "played through a foot injury" as a senior at Ohio State and tore an ACL in Broncos TC as rookie. Injury prone = "often or frequently injured" Not sure that definition describes Heuerman. But knew someone would try to apply it to him sooner or later.

He may not have planned a sna0 but he had a year to learn playbook and verbiage. That will help a lot to eliminate rookie mistakes of not understanding offense or getting mixed up.

Off season+local media. In every town, it's pretty much 90% homers with a sprinkling of constant pessimists who think they're "keeping it real."

Think of it as Broncos Forums if we all received a salary to post here.
