Aqib Talib on Broncos finding a QB: 'Good thing we have John Elway'

A week until voluntary offseason workouts begin, Pro Bowl cornerback Aqib Talib remains confident in the Broncos' chances to defend their championship even as quarterback uncertainty exists.

"I think as long as the quarterbacks put in the work and listen to coach (Kubiak), if we put in that same work, I don't see why we can't repeat," Talib said on ESPN's SportsCenter on Monday.

Denver wants to add a third quarterback to compete with Mark Sanchez for the starting job. Brian Hoyer and Josh McCown are trade candidates, but San Francisco's Colin Kaepernick commands the most attention. Does Talib think Kaepernick would fit?

"Who knows? We need to get him in that locker room and get him around the guys and see how it goes. (San Francisco) came to our facility last year (for dual practices during training camp), and he's a good quarterback," Talib said. "He has one of the strongest arms in the league, and we already know what he can do with his legs. (Kaepernick) has to be interested a little bit."

Talib scared me a few times this year with his temper, and especially in the SB. But, he collected himself and played incredible. I tell you what, before Talib, Ware and Ward our team was a little soft but these dudes brought some meanness to the team. Talib is probably the most hot headed at times but I believe you need a guy like that on your team to motivate the others. Sort of like how Draymond Green does for the Warriors.

Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib doesn't want to hear about Brock Osweiler's hurt feelings.

In an interview Monday on Russillo & Kanell, via Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman, Talib offered his two cents on Osweiler following the quarterback's move to the Houston Texans: "You're a backup quarterback, then that's your job title. ... And then when starter comes back, you back, backup again."

Former teammate Aqib Talib said he did his best to convince Osweiler to stay with the defending champs. The veteran cornerback told the Russilo & Kanell show on ESPN Radio that he tried to warn Osweiler about the dangers of choosing money over the right situation:
