Surprising announcement by the 32 year old LT.

In a piece he wrote for Sports Illustrated in Dec:

Ferguson wrote:

"Since seeing Concussion, I can’t avoid wondering if I am in danger of experiencing some degree of brain injury when I am done playing. It couldn’t happen to me, right?
"... Though I cannot remember ever having a concussion, I now know as an offensive lineman that it is the frequency of collisions that can ultimately lead to brain injury. It’s a different conversation when you are involved in the story and not just watching a movie about it. I fear the unavoidable truth is that playing football has placed me in harm’s way, and I am not yet sure of the full extent of what it might cost me."

I think players retiring in their early 30s instead of late 30s is about to become the new norm. More and more players will want to get their money and get out before too many hits to the head pile up.

That's very interesting.

Clady and picks to take their spot in the first round?

highly unlikely. . . they wanted brick to take a pay cut because they're tight against the cap-- adding clady's bloated contract for a player who isn't as good or nearly as reliable wouldn't make sense. . .

I agree. Not just hits to the head but their health overall. Simply being able to walk up and down steps and be there for their kids is important.

Sounds like they could use an OT, like the one Denver doesn't need anymore.

And by that I mean Michael Schofield.
