I hope this is true. Time to move on with or without Brock and without Manning.

Maybe this will help with Osweiler's negotiations.

Maybe this will help with Osweiler's negotiations.

If anything it gives Brock more leverage because Denver doesn't have Manning as a chip to potentially fall back on.

If it helps at all with Brock, it will be because the team was likely informed before putting forward their offer so he may realize that it's the best they can give and readily accept, or not.

There has been a lot said about Peyton but in the end I am so happy he is retiring in Denver and going out a champion. I am so happy he came to Denver and was huge in this team winning again and becoming champions. I remember the joy when the Broncos signed him and the joy we have now being Super Bowl Champions once again. Very happy how this story played out.

KUSA - One of the best quarterbacks in NFL history has called it a career.

Peyton Manning informed the Denver Broncos Saturday evening that he is retiring as a player following 18 NFL seasons. Manning spoke with Broncos chief executive officer Joe Ellis, general manager John Elway and head coach Gary Kubiak about his decision.

I take exception to that list. I can't believe there has ever been an athlete with as many major add campaigns running at the same time as Manning had a few years ago with Papa Johns, Cut that meat, DirecTV and some others.

That list just doesn't look complete to me.

The press conference tomorrow will start at 11:00 MST. NFL Network will carry it, and I am sure it will be carried live on the Broncos website.

I wonder what athlete has made the most commercials/advertisementz all time?

So pleased that I got the chance to see him play.

Although, I never got to see much of him because Spiker kept making me go get him food and beer. He said it was the price of admission. Spiker is a harsh man.

Back on topic though, these last four years have just been great. Thanks 18.

I doubt it because Elway won't allow the team to be held hostage.

I'd guess Michael Jordan?

In regards to Manning: Peyton Manning is arguably the greatest QB of all time, and certainly the most cerebral player we've ever seen. Watching him play has been a privilege and an honor. It will be strange not to see #18 suit up on Sundays.

Yet Manning no longer looms over negotiations, poised to retake the job again. I must believe the prospect of spending yet ANOTHER year on the bench has been a factor in pushing Oz' salary demand higher. He wants to prove his own right to Manning Money, not remain in an indefinite holding pattern and paid accordingly.

Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas

"The more you knew Peyton, the closer you'd get with him. I used to go to his house and hang out with him. We'd watch TV, watch games, play with the kids. He didn't play no video games. He had no video games. We would just watch TV or get body work."

On Manning as a prankster:

"I remember the year we went to Duke [to work out in the offseason]. We had [Eric] Decker. The week before we went up to do the [training sessions], Peyton said, 'Everything is going to be free. You guys don't have to worry about nothing. Just get here.' We got there and we had dinner. We had rehab. We had hotel rooms. So, he kind of made fake sheets up that showed it was paid for. Only one person got one that was a bill, and you could see the guy's face. It was Eric Decker. It was like $3,000 or something like that. When you saw Decker's face, it was like priceless. That was just one of the pranks Peyton did."

Best moment on the field:

"I'd have to say 509 (career touchdown) against San Francisco. He made up his little own prank or joke to keep the ball away from him. When we scored 509, it was the most career touchdowns by any quarterback in NFL history. His thing was, he wanted everybody to try and keep the ball away from him, like we weren't going to give him the ball. That's just Peyton."

Peter King's new column is up. Lots of Manning stuff in there, obviously, and a lot coming from Brady:

“Every game he has played, I have watched,” Brady said. “I have file folders of his plays, of how he plays. It’d take years for me to watch it all again. But what he’s done in Denver has been incredible. Think of what he did—changing teams, changing organizations, at his age, and then in four years going to two Super Bowls with that team.

“What just happened, winning the Super Bowl in his last game, is a perfect way to end a career. But what he’s accomplished through all these years, what makes it so admirable, is the pressure he’s had on him his whole life. He was the highest-rated recruit in high school. He was the biggest quarterback in college football. He was the first pick in the draft. Who has lived up to the expectations year after year after year as well as Peyton? He’s done it so gracefully, so admirably. He set the standard for how to play the quarterback position.”

“What’d you learn from him?” I asked.

“A lot,” said Brady. “I realized the level of commitment you must have to be great, watching him do it. I know the time I put in, so I knew the time he had to have put in. It’s not 9 to 5. It’s a lifelong commitment. Football is a sport, it’s an art, it’s a religion. It’s all-encompassing. He mastered it.”

Reading though Tomlinson's section, Peyton and Elway asked him to play for the Broncos at Junior Seau's memorial. I had never heard that before.
