Not bad although i have to question the alt pick in round one. Why draft another TE when we have a young one coming back from injury that we just drafted last year?

I love Thompson and agree he's a 2nd round pick, but why a safety? Are you assuming he's the best talent available at that spot? I guess that late in the 2nd he might be.

I was actually vacillating with the first round alternate pick for several minutes between a TE or a Safety :) My thought was 1) like you said, Heuerman is coming off a major ACL injury and 2) I'm not that impressed with Daniels/Davis (will be they on the roster next season?), leaving only Green. If this is too early for a TE then make a Safety the alternate pick (Jeremy Cash, SS, Duke, 6-1/212).

Per the CBS NFL Draft Rankings Thompson is the top-rated FS in this draft class and is rated at #56. And, yes, I was trying to combine BPA and what I saw as positional need. The Broncos draft at #61/62 in the 2nd round, unless we trade up/down. We need depth at Safety other than Ward/Stuart.

I love Thomspon. He's like a bigger version of what we have at FS. He has the athleticism to cover deep, but at 6'2" 215 he's a very physical and complete safety. I don't think he'll still be on the board, especially with the Renaissance at the safety position.

I do like the draft. But with Clady and Sambrailo returning we have all OL starters. Need immediate Malik starter.

My 2 cents, Elway always drafts defense in 1st round

Calhoune, Bullard, or Washington one of those 3 I think will be our first pick at 31. Malik will probably be gone and we will need to replace him.

I could live with this. Would like an RB somewhere in mid rounds though with Hillman leaving.
