What are your plans, staying home or going out or do you have tickets to the game? Hanging with people or curling up in the fetal position by yourself? What you planning on for food? These are all important questions!

Sometimes I like to be around people when watching games, but usually not for the Super Bowl. I'll be watching in my house, possibly in the fetal position. We'll probably get some wings or something, which will interest my wife more than the game will. Beer is a requirement.

Gonna do things completely different this SB. The family that watched the debacle against the Seasqwacks gracious declined our invite. Nobody else invited so just the family this time. Wife may or may not do a spread. We're going low-key just like the team to bring home another Lombardi.

I have the Monday off.

So I will be sitting on my own, getting incredibly drunk and occasionally typing gibberish on this message board

I will probably switch to pornhub at half time so the party will move to my pants for a while before refocusing on the second half

Posted in a different thread.

I'll be watching it with just the Family. The wife, my kids, and myself drinking Orange Crush and nervously pacing through the living room. I have been really good the last two years keeping my emotions in check during games but I may get a little loud for the SB.

My son will sit next to me and grab my hand during the more tense parts of the game.

Me and DenBronx are going to the NFL Experience on Saturday, then I'm sitting front and center on the Broncos sideline...well closer to the end zone. Section 124, row 28.

I'll be bringing the NOISE!!

We had a house full of about 40 people when the Broncos lost to the Seahawks... so this time it's just me and the wife going to a friends house who is also a Broncos fan. We can either cheer or bitch about the game together.

I watch football in private whenever possible. Too much angst involved to enjoy public viewing. I need to pace, shout, laugh, cry without public scorn.

The Super Bowl is the ultimate in amateur football viewing - so I don't ever go to SB parties period, let alone when my team is playing.

I had the unfortunate experience of having to watch the Steelers playoff game at the Golf Clubhouse at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach Ca. I had watched the two earlier games that Saturday at the same clubhouse and there were some Patty fans in there, and one other Bronco fan. The next day, there was nothing but Steelers fans in there and I was the ONLY Broncos fan. It sucked til the end, and I had the last laugh, swinging my terrible towel (white napkin) at the end when the Broncos won. 3 dudes got all butt hurt and followed me outside like they wanted to fight but my ride was already there so I just laughed at them as I drove off. Steelers fans SUCK! Almost as bad as Patties fans.

Yeah one of those douche bags took off in this thing...the rest of that guys family took off in a Rolls Royce.

Other than it was a bunch of Squeelers fans that apparently all finished their tee time all at the same time and came in to gloat through the whole game. It was pretty sweet walking out of there with the big W!

Same. Now I did leave the party I was at during the 4th quarter, so I missed like one or two drives, but I turned it back on when I got home to finish it out. I felt duty and honor-bound to do so.

I actually hope they fake a bad snap while snapping it to Hillman or Anderson. That would be awesome.

I also watched every second of the game - just like the horrible 4-12 season. I didn't miss a single game that year.

If all goes to plan at home with some Pizza and drink.

We are driving back from Steamboat that day. I made damn sure that we are leaving (physically in the car and driving home) by 8am at the latest. I just know, I just know there is going to be some sort of force to try and prohibit me from seeing the game. Flat tire, stuck in snow, something....I just know it. I have the game on record 1 hr prior and 2 hours after. I have also looked up all of the spots bars on the way home. Should I deem I will not make it then we are watching the game in Dillon, or clake, o somewhere.

Honestly, I can't really decide.

I've openly contemplated a party to several friends. I've thought about goading another buddy of mine into throwing one if I buy the initial allotment of beer and alcohol.

Then there's the watching it alone, which I've done most of the season. That was also the tact two years ago. I was in the fetal position by mid first quarter.

Joel
02-05-2016, 05:40 AM
In 2013, I promised everyone I knew a SB party if we made it. Fortunately, kickoff was at 2:30 Monday morning, so everyone was in bed (and a month-old infant made an apartment full of drunk rowdy guests unwise anyway.) I wound up Skype texting back and forth with an Italian friend who lives down in Oslo: By the middle of the second quarter he was wondering if someone got paid off, and I was deep in my cups. By the end of the 3rd qtr I was so drunk I looked up and suddenly thought, Shit, if we don't score quick we'll the FIRST TEAM EVER SHUT OUT IN A SB! Fortunately we got a TD to start the 4th; yea.

The lesson I learned from all that is that SB parties are only a good idea if you don't care who wins. And that you should ALWAYS have a fifth on hand if you DO care.
So I'll watch the game at home, and spend Saturday at the liquor store: if we win, I'll want to celebrate; if we lose, I'll want to grieve. Go, America; Go, Broncos! :salute:

Oh, and for those who recall my drunken post-SB rant: I DID say we'd be back, didn't I? ;)

It was just going to be me and my son, but my A&M buddy invited himself over last night for Sunday, so I told him to bring a little Jack Daniels with him. :) Variety of chicken wings is on the menu (ordering from a local wing & things here).....the chili lime, cajun rub, chipotle rub, and mesquite rub all sound good. I'll get a 6er of Pyramid Snow Cap and a 6er of Shiner Bock for my friend (being a Texan), while my son wanted Dr. Pepper. I'm sending off the wife and daughter shopping, or whatever they do, just stay gone for a few hours :D. I hope the BRONCOS don't let me down, because I made a $300 bet with my friend. He thinks the Panthers are going to destroy the BRONCOS, because he says the BRONCOS always gets destroyed in Superbowls. I had to remind him of the '97 & '98 teams. GO BRONCOS!! :defense:

My first and last Super Bowl Party was about 5 years ago or whatever (Giants vs Pats Part II). Also, I realized something about my viewing habits in the last few years. Since 2012, we are 4-3 in the playoffs. I've gone out to the Bronco bar around here for one game each year - we are 2-2. I was (unfortunately) live for the Super Bowl two years ago, so I'm 0-1 there. When I just watch at my house with only my wife and kids around, we're 2-0. Staying home looks like the wise choice.

Im always a bundle of nerves especially this year when the scores have been so close but if the game starts to turn into a route in favor of the Panthers i will just go about enjoying the party for what it is and laugh at our poor display yet again in the big game. I will do the same if we somehow shock the world and destroy the Panthers (not likely) but if the game is close i will be on edge the whole night until its over.

My problem is that I'm not too into parties to begin with. I've always had small groups of friends and I'd just as soon see a movie or go to a bar with a few friends than a big gathering. I could tolerate a Super Bowl party for the most part, but not if the Broncos are involved. I feel people have to "earn" the right to watch a Broncos game in my presence.

Kubiak and Miller are both Aggies. I might understand if we were playing Seattle again (they have four,) but the Panthers have nada.

Then again, I'm just the opposite of your friend; I contend the SECAA puts the "amateur" in "amateur athletics" despite paying players so well they've begun unionizing. I just can't take it seriously as long as it lacks a playoff (and no, electing four teams to a "playoff" isn't better than electing one "national" "champion.")

The great thing about that was that it was purely a victory lap, with no pressure because there was nothing left to prove: Elway had his Ring, Davis had his 2000 yds, and the stumble against the Giants even prevented the 18-0 pressure NE* had 8 years ago. Except for people itching to see Elway and Shanny beat Reeves, it was drama free (for us...) Best part: I worked with a Falcons fan who made the mistake of being nearby when complaining he couldn't find anyone to bet on Denver. :)

Not so sure, but between the Oiler and Broncos (especially recent seasons) maybe I'm just conditioned to low expectations (though I didn't have them '97-99.)

Gotta get a bottle later: I'll either want to drown my growing sorrows or toast victory.

Don't they have good vodka over there in Norway?

They do, but I'm home now. And thinking scotch: Just gotta find something that's inexpensive rather than cheap. ;)

Try Monkey Shoulder. I'm with SR and stick to bourbon - Blanton's and any of the other Buffalo Trace labels are my current obsessions. However, I have a bottle of the Monkey and it is quite drinkable.

Central, actually; call it "halfway home." We left Houston when I was 12, and my mom's >70 now, so I felt the need to get back and keep an eye on her.

Thanks for the tip, but too late for me: My recollection of L.A. visits are that ya'll can just walk into a grocery store and buy liquor 24/7, but this is TX, so no liquor after 9PM, none at all on Sunday. I screwed around until 20 minutes before the liquor store closed, then just popped in and quickly grabbed some Famous Grouse. I'll remember the recommendation for when we defend the title next year though. ;)

I was invited to 3 SB parties. I turned them all down. I would go if it were any team except the Broncos. There can be no potential distractions when I watch the Broncos, that is 10X more important in the SB.

Watching the game from my hotel room at Disney World. Too pumped to watch in public. LOL.

I wish I could sit down and watch this game again with all of you right now. Much less stress knowing the outcome :D

Here's to you guys, once again. I know you're feeling how I feel right now.

Really fun. I did pick Mardi Gras week so that sucked. Apparently the whole state of Louisiana gets that week off and half the state decided to go to Disney World. They weren't too bad, but it was crowded.
