In my experience, trash talk's just asking for trouble:

If you win, you don't have to say anything, because you said it all on the field: The ONLY time it MATTERS.
If you lose, you get to eat your words, in this case, for (at least) the entire next year.

Ah, right; I keep forgetting that Polk High City Championship team understands the NFL on a visceral level the rest of us peasants can never begin to appreciate.

Look, I'm sorry: I would've gone out for JV when I was 16, but for some reason the UIL frowns on college students playing HS football. I'm duly ashamed though.

Agreed.

Learned my lesson a long time ago not to be overconfident. Oddly enough in the 6 previous SB's i witnessed 4 of them i felt we would win easily and we ended up getting destroyed by the opponent. In the 2 wins i just said i thought it would be a great game. Im taking the low road this year in hopes we get it done.

The thing that really pisses me off is that I was going to wear those exact pants to a SB party but I can't do that now, I'd look silly.

That's how it always went when I trash talked NE* friends before games: Even when we had all the advantages on paper, we ALWAYS lost, and usually got destroyed (with the notable exception of '05.) So I quit, and last year is the only time they've beaten us since.

Yeah, turned 17 about a month after classes started. The interesting time was freshman year of HS, because the varsity football team kind of adopted me, so I was 12 and spending a lot of time with 17-year-old cheerleaders. That may sound like fun, but remember: THEY knew I was 12, too. :(
