Kubiak has discussed using Anunike as a fourth OLB if the need arises because of injuries.

Andrew Mason ‏@MaseDenver 6h

Don't know. Back spasms are tricky. That's why Kubiak said he's day-to-day. RT @Nacho_Benaglia: How long will DeMarcus Ware be out?

A week or so ago, I was reliably (i.e. trenchantly) informed even SUGGESTING Anunike play OLB in our 3-4 is rank idiocy. Whoever heard of a 4-3 DE going to 3-4 OLB; if that were even POSSIBLE there'd probably be some specific term for such players. This presumably proves Kubiak's never played a football game and doesn't watch any of ours.

Whoa man! Take it easy! You don't want to tear a rotators cuff or labrum. You know, from patting yourself on the back so vigorously. ;)

He's a pro. He probably stretches and stuff before the vigorous back patting. I mean, he's been doing it here for years so I assume he's proficient in his preparation to achieve such longevity.

I almost want to see us just rest Peyton a week even if it is just a minor injury. Keeps it from becoming a more severe injury, and gets us a one-week look at Brock. I'm sure there is no chance that happens, but I wouldn't hate it.

That would be opening Pandora's box. What happens if Brock kills it? Huge game etc? THEN we have a QB controversy, and added pressure on Manning.

I understand your thinking, and am eager to know how Brock really would handle himself in that position, but it just can't happen unless the organization is truly ready to pull the plug on Manning.

Peyton played better with a partially torn quad last year than he has all season this season. Maybe a little lingering injury is what they need for Peyton to improve?

He'll play, and I hope he does. One completed pass (well, at least a 4-5 yard pass) to break Favre's yardage record, and a win to break the all time wins record. I can't think of a better time to get both than against KC at home.

Yeah I definitely agree it won't happen due to the controversy it could cause, but the curious side of me still really wants to see it.

ENGLEWOOD—The worst gift for any NFL defensive player is a FedEx envelope placed in their locker.

T.J. Ward got the gift that keeps on taking this Wednesday. Ward got not one, but two unwanted letters from the league office. The first fine administered by the NFL was in the amount of $17,363 for Ward's ferocious hit on was deemed "a defenseless receiver," in this case T.Y. Hilton of the Indianapolis Colts.

"I expected it, but I'm going to fight it," Ward said, meaning he will formally appeal the fine.

The second letter in Ward's envelope notified him he had been fined $5,700 for a uniform infraction.

"I had my jersey untucked," he said. "I've had it that way all season and all the sudden they decided to fine me."

#broncos Tj Ward naturally disappointed by jersey fine. "I have been wearing jersey the same way for 6 years."

DeMarcus Ware said lower back injury improving. Didn't rule out playing next week but knows has to ease in this time #Broncos

Latimer, come on down. Youre the next contestant on the price is right!

I hope to see DT, Latimer and Fowler in the slot. Added bonus is they are all 3 big big guys and will help our run blocking tremendously!

Other than when he missed the 2011 season after his fourth neck surgery Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has not missed a start in any of his 17 other seasons, including this one. But he has been on the Broncos' injury report the last two weeks -- right shoulder last week, foot this week. However, after Friday's practice coach Gary Kubiak said; "He did everything, he took his full Friday. He looked good, threw the ball around good and moved good. He had a good day."

Latimer has actually had some reps they just don't seem to trust him enough to actually throw him a pass. Supposedly been doing a great job blocking downfield - not that I've noticed.

Hell how could you? The camera never makes it passed the line of scrimmage on running plays.

The TV maps for the week are up - I'm actually surprised so many parts of the country are getting this game. I assumed Pats/Giants would be shown in most of the country. I myself will be hitting up a Bronco bar in NYC just for kicks (and drinks).

For those of you that care about announcers, we will be getting Greg Gumbel and Trent Green, not Nantz and Simms:

Well damn! We get the yawner of Patriots/Giants.....wonder who's gonna win that game :coffee: . Oh well, me and my son will just have to go to the Ale House, because I ain't missin a Chiefs beatdown. :)

I would sit manning

Not for all the reasons about his poor play, just because I would rather have a healthy manning in January than a manning carrying a knock like last year

I like the idea. I'm sure they let Peyton start, and go from there. If the pain affects his play, then give Brock his shot. Without looking at the history, but I believe Peyton has done very well against the Chiefs throughout his career.

He's 14-1 against the Chiefs in his career, I believe.

In any case, there's no way they sit him in this game, even if he is banged up. If he has an issue in game, though, we might see Brock. I'd prefer to just be blowing them out by halftime so this isn't an issue, but that's not how this team has operated this year.

I think they will let Manning play for 1 or 5 plays and break Favre's record. Then, pull him out for the rest of the game. Rest on Sunday and this week before heading to Chicago.

So he injured his ribs during a light walk through? Thats crazy, if they truly think manning will turn things around late in the year they better consider sitting him a few weeks

The person I mentioned that dislocated their rib from sneezing was about 5'9" and weighed about 230 with less than 10% body fat. Built like a brick shithouse in other words. Freak things happen to even the best conditioned, most in-shape people around.

I'm not saying that's what happened to Peyton, but I am saying you're full of shit.

A foot injury could really hurt Manning's accuracy. He needs to be able to plant and throw more than anyone else in the league.

Unfortunately, I was right.
