Even though the rule EXPLICITLY MANDATES a 15 yd penalty (which he didn't get against Detroit NOR KC) but NOT a fine (which he did get the second time, yet not the first.)

Okay, the scabs were bad enough to get (NFL) refs full time professional pay and benefits for their part time hobby: Is it too much to ask they start showing professional CONSISTENCY? It often looks like the NFLs idea of "impartial fairness" still boils down to "blow one down here, blow one down there."

Refs should enforce (or not) the same rules the same way everytime for everyone. He SHOULD have been penalized—EVERY time, not just ONCE—because he broke an explicit rule. He should never have been fined though, because there's nothing in th rule about that, and it's not like he clotheslined a guy or (far worse) called him a naughty word. I don't even care what the rule IS, only that it should be clear and consistently enforced, so players always know what is/n't allowed, rather than every player doing whatever he wants because refs flag (or not) whatever THEY want, notwithstanding rules.

I laughed as well. When he first struck the pose I thought he might actually do it but then when he looked around I knew he was just having some fun.

You DO realize being an :censored: isn't magically excused by adding "I'm not an :censored:" at the end, right? Anyway, back to relevant things:

The refs did NOT do what the rules say, DID do what the rules DON'T say, and didn't even do THAT consistently, because when the same thing happened in KC they did NOTHING. And penalized DT for something the rules DON'T say is illegal. Very professional; no wonder players love trying to figure out what is and isn't legal from week to week and down to down.
